Nana gleefully mocked Afya, to which she rolled her eyes.
"And what moment could that possibly be anyway?" the boy asked.
"Never you mind," Afya replied. "What is it?"
"I want to talk to you nah, wetin be the problem?"
"Talk? Boy, we literally spoke not that long ago."
"Um, no, you told me you were busy," Nana interrupted. "Which actually made me cry, but okay."
"Forgive me for prioritising myself above you, bucket head."
"And by that you also mean yourself, right?"
There was bitter silence from the girl before her friend burst into laughter
"I'm just kidding!" he chuckled. "You know, cause I'm KiDi?"
"Can't argue with that," said Afya. "Bye though, I'm still made at you for interrupting me."
"Ugh, you drama queen. You'll live."

"Hmm? Nothing."
Jadon shook his head and looked at his friend. "Nah man, something's up. What's wrong?"
Bukayo shrugged. "Nothing," he repeated.
"So it has absolutely nothing to do with Afya?"
Bukayo slumped even further into his seat at the mention of her name. "Can we not just talk about something else?"
Jadon sighed. "You wanna talk about what happened?"
"Not really, no."
"Aha! So something DID happen!"
Bukayo kissed his teeth. "Fine," he grumbled. "Whenever me and her are alone, I just... I don't know, start feeling nervous. Like, really nervous. Yeah, I know I'm whipped, but I don't know if there's anything more to it than that. I tried making a move, but we got stopped. And she's really busy as well, she doesn't have time for someone to try and fail like I am."
The older man gave his friend a pat on the back supportively.
"It's gonna be okay," said Jadon, smiling. "Don't give up - yeah, things might not be going so well, but these things take time, you know?"
Bukayo nodded.
"And at the end of the day, you're still a great guy, whether she sees it or not."
Bukayo began to smile as the pair stood up to leave the changing room. "Thanks bro," he replied, and gave his friend a bro hug.
