"Well, you're a dumbass."

Bukayo rolled his eyes at Jude and scoffed. "Oh please. It's not like I did anything wrong."

Jude raised an eyebrow. "Really?" he asked sarcastically. "It wasn't you who was literally having a convo with me at 3am about the best way to ask her out? It also wasn't you that felt nervous around her all the fucking time? You weren't the one that told me you had, like, the biggest crush on her as a kid?"

"Jude, stop dwelling in the past, this is now. Anyway, she doesn't need me - have you seen the amount of guys she hangs around? It's impossible for her not to be interested in any of them!"

Jude shook his head and looked at his friend in disgust. "Seriously? What does that have to do with anything?"

Before Bukayo could respond with a foolish answer, Marcus opened the door and popped his head in. "Gaffer wanted to know if youse wanted to go out for breakfast today, there's this nice place not that far away. You coming?"

Jude nodded, but Bukayo shook his head.

"Let me guess," said Marcus, rolling his eyes and sighing in disappointment. "Morning date with Sabrina?"

"It's not a date! I'm just gonna see her for a bit, that's all."

The older boy slowly nodded his head. "Well, I gotta run," he replied. "The eggs and ketchup are calling my name!"

He ran out of the room, leaving the two younger boys very confused.

"Well, I'm off," said Jude. "You are making a big mistake, by the way. Afya, well, she loves you. Sabrina - it's not my place to say. Just think about what you're doing!"

Bukayo pretended to be deep in thought before rolling his eyes and kissing his teeth at Jude.

"Bro, everything's gonna be fine! You're acting like she's seeing someone else or something."

"... Have you checked your insta this morning?"

Afya was definitely feeling a bit better after eating as much breakfast as possible. I mean, there was nothing better, at least to get, than the sound of waffles. For her, it didn't get much better than that.

As for Kweku and Yaw, they were just happy to see their friend smiling, after everything that had happened. They didn't take it very easily when Afya first revealed the past relationship she had with Zain, but then again, no one in their right mind would.

Bringing the glass of orange juice to her lips, Afya surveyed the little area. There wasn't much action - it all seemed very humble and quiet.

Just like Bukayo.

The girl sighed and drank her juice, cursing herself. Why wasn't she able to enjoy anything without thinking about him?

It caused her more pain, to say the least. And the longer she stayed with that feeling, the less likely it would be that she would be willing to even have a conversation with Bukayo ever again.

In other words, he needed to fix the damage, and fast.

Kweku's eyes widened as some more customers entered. Tapping Afya hurriedly, he whispered, "Hey, aren't those the other football guys?"

Which caused Afya to tense up even more. Even if Bukayo wasn't with them, she was sure that they would try and come over to tell her about he was doing.

Which is exactly what Jude did.

"Hey Gertru-"

"Mi paaky3, w) b3 tumi ma Afya space?" asked Yaw, scrunching up his nose.
