"Well what exactly did you want him to respond with," Luella questioned with a grin, her elbow propped up on the car door.
Stiles shrugged dramatically, almost taking his hands off the steering wheel. "Yes Stiles I find you very attractive!"
Luella threw her head back in laughter at his flustered state, getting an offend look in return, but an amused glint still shun in his brown eyes.
"Hey," Stiles retorted with a small grin. "Is it so unbelievable to think someone finds me attractive?"
Luellas laughter faded away as she spoke. "No, no Stiles," she denied, not wanting the boy to get the wrong idea. She turned to fully face him, though she knew he couldn't take his eyes off the road. "You're attractive, but you don't ask random people that, especially after you question the trust they have with their best friends."
Stiles glanced at Luella quickly, seeing how nonchalant she was about saying that he was attractive. He went pink in the face, but tried to ignore the butterflies fluttering around his stomach.
"Could you imagine our friendship being like that," Stiles questioned, thinking of how much Jackson hadn't trusted Danny to tell him what happened in the video store.
Luella paused, trying to picture the trio without trust, after a moment or two she shrugged. "Maybe Jackass is just scared," she mumbled with just a hint of compassion. "He definitely looked it today," she commented, getting a nod in reply as Stiles' mind flashed back to Jacksons pale face. "And those eyebags though," Lu expressed. "You could fit two little puppies in them."
Stiles snorted at how fast Luella could come up with a witty comment, how easy it was for her to set a mental imagine in his brain.
It was silent for a bit before Stiles glanced at Luella and bit his lip. "Why are we going to see Lydia," he asked slowly as naturally as he could.
Luella froze as she stared out the window at the passing trees. She cleared her throat, thinking of their words on trust just minutes before. Lu opened her mouth to answer with no emotion, then closed it and answered softly.
"I wanna see if she's alright."
Stiles took in a long breath then gave a little cough, a sharp pain going through his heart, he knew why he was feeling such things but refused to except it. "As her friend?"
Luella took her time to give a shrug, avoiding looking over to the boy, not knowing, not understanding her own feelings to give a solid answer. "We also need to check if she seen anything," Lu reasoned in a low voice, feeling shameful as she sat next to her best friend who has had a crush on Lydia for years on end.
Stiles gave another jittery nod, feeling the awkwardness hanging over them, a feeling that only comes around once in a blue moon when it come to the pair. He shook the feeling off and let a smirk slowly spread across his lips.
