The Reflections Saga - The World Through the Mirror

Part 3

 The following morning Sage slowly opens his eyes and notices Rain sat next to his bed and smiles softly as he feels a warm glow come over him, he nervously reaches forward to pet Rain. He is suddenly stopped by a growl followed by, "you pet me I bite your hand off." Sage's hand retreats back to his chest. He watches Rain stand up and looks at him feeling Rain's azure eyes locked with his own, "Magdalen want to see you for an orientation," grunts Rain as he grabs a towel before leaving the room.

Watching Rain leave Sage chirps up, "thanks for watching over me," he says with a soft smile followed by a yawn. Sitting up he suddenly starts thinking about the images in his head and manages to piece together that the creatures chasing him were a frost giant and a fire giant. As he looks around finding the room to be strange before the subtle realisation he's at the school dawns, and he grabs one of the books Viktor got for him and starts to read as he waits for Rain. In deep concentration Sage reads page after page absorbing all the information with ease until he's distracted by a strange creaking sound. Looking around Sage sees Snow stretching and with each motion of their limbs and roll of their body an earth like creaking can be heard. Sage cocks his head curiously and speaks up, "do all terra spirits sound like that when they move?"

Snow turns to face Sage and looks at him, "oh, no not really we just tend to seize up when we don't move for a while," they chuckle. The get out of bed and walk across the room grabbing a towel and a wash bag looking at Sage, "oh I guess you haven't got things to wash with yet?"

Sage looking up curious notices what they mean but with a little crack of a smile, "no, but I should be fine for today," he says before returning to his book. Sage notices Snow waiting before heading out to get cleaned up but doesn't question because he assumes the number of students just means Snow is waiting for the best time to go. Deciding to get dressed Sage then sits at the available desk in the room to read his book and is informed by Snow as they leave that there are notebooks and writing supplies in the drawers and cupboard. He decides to take a few and starts making notes on vampires. After about an hour Snow returns and Sage had finished the book and written a few notes and inadvertently sketched a picture of Viktor.

A rhythmic thumping is heard as Snow walks into the room, both of them look to the door and see Tombstone who ducks through the door. He looks at the pair before his attention is fully drawn to Sage, "okay Sage I have a schedule list for you because you are now a student of the school and you have induction today so you can potentially join classes," he explains through a light smile. Noticing the expression on Sage's face he turns to Snow, "Snow could you take him to the canteen for breakfast, then bring him to my office for ten o'clock please?" he asks.

Snow gives a nod to Tombstone before watching him leave the room after handing the schedule to Sage, walking over and looking over the list with Sage snow notices a few special additions to the induction for him. Thinking out loud, "hmm I guess they are going to find out what type of magic you use, because you have a few things on here that aren't apart of the normal induction or usually magicians know what magic they use when they come here," they explain. Noticing the look in Sage's eyes Snow chuckles, "you really like learning stuff," gesturing for Sage to follow them Snow walks to the door, "come on I'll explain on the way to the canteen." As they wait for Sage to follow they watch as he grabs the leather bag he took from the store room where he got his clothes from and puts the notebook and some writing supplies along with one of the books he finished and a third within, with a chuckle Snow starts leading Sage to the canteen.

The pair arrive at the canteen and find that there is a fairly decent collection of students gathered into groups as they eat various foods that Sage has never seen before. As Sage follows Snow he looks around absorbing all the new sites and smells from the other students piecing together what they are as he drifts behind the looming titan of Snow. Sage notices Viktor sitting with the dragonborn from last night along with two others, but they have their backs turned so he can't make out what they are. Reaching the food window Sage looks forward at the person standing the other side of it, they are a short, gruff looking individual with long brown hair tide into ornate braids and a bushy beard doing the same. Sage simply orders some toast and eggs while Snow orders a collection of minerals and metals. Taking the tray Sage nods his head, "thank you for the food sir."
