The Reflections Saga - The World Through the Mirror

Part 7

 "So Magdalen, why does that boy have a connection to Fenrir, and the Nephalim?" Quatermane's droning voice questions. He begins to loom over her in an imposing manor, "I'm not as blind as I may seem, so tell me the truth," he demands.

Magdalen sighs as she looks up at an agitated Quatermane, "Jonah you know as well as I do that I have seen worse evils than you can produce, so I'm not intimidated by you. But it is a family mater so I will deal with it," she explains. She sits in her chair pondering over why this is happening now all of a sudden, she is brought out of thought by a looming Quatermane.

"You need to trust others to help you, I thought you were different to your brother."

Sage starts tossing and turning in his sleep as he feels a strange presence looming over him. He starts to feel nauseous and begins sweating. Suddenly a voice calls out to him and he tries to follow it but is unable until he jolts up to finds Eliza and Snow sitting next to his bed, "where am I? What happened?" he begins questioning everything, before he gets calmed down by Snow.

"Sage calm down, you're safe. You're in the infirmary, and you've been out for five days," they explain calmly, managing to calm Sage down. Snow looks over their shoulder and glances at Rain who is stood by the door, and with his usual rough expression just stands for a moment. Rain quietly leaves the room before Sage sees him and starts heading somewhere.

Sage breathing slowly is caught off guard by a hug from Eliza and smiles as he hears her giggle that he's okay. Sage sits up slowly and holds his head as he looks at Eliza sat at the end of his bed. He chuckles slightly at her grin. "Snow could you get me a glass of water please," Sage chirps up softly.

Snow with a look of concern softly smiles in reply and nods as they leave the room and heads to get a glass of water for Sage. Snow dredges through the hallways as he spots Rain walking softly ahead of them. The look of concern obvious on his face is turned as a voice calls out to him.

"Hey mongrel," a shrill voice calls out.

Rain's demeanour shifts from one of concern to his usual gruff attitude as a minotaur approaches him, "hey mongrel, why you looking so down?" He says in a teasing manor. He begin berating Rain about why he was seen running through the halls with someone in his arms. The other student starts droning on as Rain tries to ignore his words and move along. Suddenly a chuckle is heard followed by a snide tone, "is the fresh meat your boyfriend, you little faggot."

In an instant Rain turns eyes filled with rage and lunges towards the other student, "alright Nox, your going to fucking pay for that, and you're...," he starts saying before he's frozen in place by a booming bellow.

"Rain!" the voice calls out. Tombstone's heavy strides can be heard as he marches down the hallway with intent and grips Nox as he tries to flee the situation. "Rain you don't need any more strikes this month, and Nox you will be seeing Magdalen and Quatermane," he states. Tombstone watches as Rain storms off in a huff, and is surprised to see Snow.

Snow who heard the whole altercation and saw most of it knows they won't be able to talk to Rain for a bit so they focus on helping Sage. They make it to the canteen and get a glass of water for Sage, suddenly a familiar voice calls out. Snow jumps a little and turns to see the stout chef behind them with a small plate of food. "It's for the small one," she says with a soft but gruff tone, whilst scratching her beard.

Snow chuckles lightly, "thanks," as they take the plate and the glass. Whilst walking back to the infirmary Snow can feel a shiver crawl down their spine as a menacing aura fills the halls. Snow does their best to ignore it and keep walking but every student is paralysed by the feeling of anger around them. Snow is one of the only few strong enough to keep moving.
