"Takei~ Takei~ Wake up, it's time for school~" A divine voice entered Takei's ears.
Takei yawned and stretched without opening his eyes. "Urgh, five more minutes please."
Akari Akazawa puffed out her cheeks and kept on prodding Takei's face with a displeased expression. "We're gonna be late if you don't wake up soon."
After a couple more moments of shaking him, Akari finally managed to make Takei wake up.
"Good morning, Akari," Takei smiled. "What are you doing here so early?"
Akari was exasperated in response to Takei's nonchalance. "Good morning, Takei. Please look at the time on the clock and ask me that question again."
Doing as instructed, Takei glanced at the clock on the wall and noticed that school was going to start in about half an hour.
"Oh... that's a problem..." Takei scratched his head.
What ensued after was a mad dash to get ready in time for school.
Takei hurriedly brushed his teeth and got dressed before rushing downstairs for some quick breakfast.
Airi had already gotten home from her vacation and was helping Akari cook a small breakfast downstairs.
When he sat down at the table to eat some breakfast, Akari came rushing over with a plate of eggs and bacon.
"Here you go! I infused it with all of my love, so please enjoy~" Akari happily chirped.
She was wearing her usual apron over her school outfit, which triggered a very homely feeling to emerge from her.
"Thanks, Akari. I'll savor every bite of your cooking," Takei promised.
Takei scooped up a big spoonful of scrambled eggs and bacon and placed it into his mouth.
He chewed for a few moments and then a lazy smile appeared on his face. "Amazing, as always. I feel like there's a hint of spice this time though?"
"Wow, you're spot on," Akari clapped. "I added some hot sauce and spices into the eggs."
Takei grinned. "It tastes pretty great. Good job."
"Thank you, your compliments help make me want to cook more!" Akari ruffled Takei's hair.
After breakfast was over, Takei and Akari left the house and departed for school.
Even though their uniforms looked mostly the same, they actually have slightly different uniforms from last year.
In reality, the only thing different was the color of their respective ties/bow ties.
Each school year had a slightly different uniform color in order for people to be able to distinguish them between the many school years at the school.
Instead of it being the light blue color, they now had a bright red color for their ties and bow ties.
As per usual, they were walking to school hand in hand with very little to no distance between each other.
Takei used to be embarrassed when they first started flirting in public like this, but he was too used to it now to say anything.
On the way to school, they noticed two familiar backs in front of them that they haven't seen in a very long time.
"Yo, Eiji! Rikka!" Takei yelled.
The sibling duo turned around extremely surprised to hear Takei's loud voice calling for them.
"You're back?" Eiji gasped. "You son of a b*tch! You should've called!"
Eiji turned around and embraced Takei with everything he had.
"How was your guys' vacation?" Rikka calmly asked them, in contrast to her brother's enthusiastic reaction.
"Ahaha, it was a nice vacation. Besides some trouble, we had a good time over there," Akari responded.
"Waaaaaa!!! I missed you so much!" Eiji cried into Takei's shoulder.
Takei tried as hard as he could to try and push him away. "Ugh, get off me dude! You're messing up my uniform!"
Why couldn't this be a hot girl crying on my chest instead of this weirdo?!
As if hearing his plea for help, another group of people showed up and greeted him.
"Oh, welcome back. I've been waiting for your return, my lord Takei!" Ryuto proclaimed.
"W-welcome back everyone..." Arisa stammered.
"Yello! How's the baby making going between you two?" Helena asked.
The school wasn't too far from where they currently were at, so it wasn't a stretch to meet everyone here on the way to school.
When Eiji heard everyone come to greet Takei and Akari, he immediately bounced away from Takei in order to not embarrass himself.
"Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. We had a fun vacation," Takei replied to his friend group.
"Now that you're back in town, we can do some fun stuff as a group now!" Ryuto pointed out.
"Hopefully it's some free fun stuff we do as a group since my pockets are a bit empty," Helena dryly laughed.
As everyone was talking, they were all simultaneously walking towards school.
"Is everyone ready for the new school year?" Akari asked the group.
Rikka nodded. "I got all my supplies and textbooks all ready in my backpack."
In contrast, Arisa cringed and shrinked back a bit. "Let's hope the workload won't be too strenuous this year."
"I doubt that'll be the case. They'll probably be trying to get us ready for college exam season next year," Takei explained.
Eiji's face tensed up when he heard about the future exam season. "Ugh, don't even mention it man."
Rikka slapped him on the back. "He's doing you a favor by mentioning it. Your grades were slipping last term because you kept trying to date 2-D girls!"
""Pfft! Bwhahaha!""
Takei joined in laughing at the banter that was happening between his friends and reminisced at the difference between his current life and his past life.
I used to be alone when I walked to school.
In the past, I was always alone.
Now though, that's not true anymore.
I have a loving girlfriend and a group of friends to walk to school with.
I'm... truly blessed.
Thank you, everyone.
Thank you.
