Training

While fighting dummies, I try to get my mind off of the nickname Lance calls me.  He's so stupid, like does he not even realize he's doing it? I don't get why he calls me it. Is he just teasing me cause I'm gay? Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have come out to the team! After all, that's around the time it started.

While battling, I hear the door open, and pay no mind to it, until I heard "Hey babe! How's training going?" I glance up and see Lance standing there with his stupidly bright smile, and annoying voice, and stupidly flawless skin.

In the moment I was distracted, the bot swung down, giving me a deep gash across my forearm. "Fuck!" I drop my sword, and grab it, applying pressure. "End training simulation!" The bot deactivates, as lance rushes over to me.

"Crap! Sorry!" I glare at him. "Babe! I really am sorry. Come on, let's go get you fixed up." He said as some blood began to drip onto the floor, and I grimace. "I'll clean that, let's just get you healed. We need our leader at the top capacity!" I sigh, and let him lead me to the healing pods, him almost running, and me jogging a bit to keep up. This shouldn't take very long to heal, not more than an hour, but it's still going to leave a scar.

Our walk is mostly in silence. Nither one of us know what to say, until lance comes up with an idea. "Hey, how about when you're out, we play a game or something?"

"What game?" I decide to ask. Curiosity has always been a slight weakness, but I can keep it under control. Most of the time.

"I was thinking SSB? But we can do something else if you're up to it." I hum, thinking to myself. "I'll give you some time to think while you're in the pod." I had barely processed we were almost there, droplets of blood still dripping to the floor, and lance pulled out something from his pocket. "Hold your arm out."

"Why?"

"I'm gonna wrap it so you don't have to hold it. Besides, it will give me a little less to clean." I do so a little hesitantly, seeing he had a handkerchief as he tied it around it. My wound was pretty much gushing, but this definitely helped some.

"Thanks." He looked at me in awe.

"The Keith Kogane, just said thank you, to me?" I roll my eyes. Well it seems like he hasn't forgotten my name at least. So that's not why he always calls me babe.

"I can take it back you know."

"No it's not that, I just didn't expect it. It's not a problem babe." I fight my face from going red at that stupid smile as we reach the healing pods. I step in, and let it all happen.

When I got out, I saw Lance waiting for me, his hands a little red from the cleaning he did. "You still down to play, Lance?" He  jumped up.

"You know it!" That smile again. Don't tell me I'm actually gaining a crush on this idiot.

Am I?
