Chapter 10

Kylon returns his attention to the groups.

'How are intending to pay us, don't see any gold on ya' says a Top Boy

'You will get your gold, no need to worry' says Titus.

'We'll just take the gold now if you don't mind lord.' says a Top Boy. His group readies themselves for a skirmish.

'You haven't presented your item yet' says Titus. The Top boys and his group begin marching towards Titus.

'Says the fool who came to Low street with nothing but two weaklings' says a Top Boy.

The Aide suddenly conjures fire from his hands and directs his flames towards the Area Boys, who immediately retreat in fear upon seeing the flames manifest. However, the flames larch onto one of the henchmen and consume him.

. The groups all watch gripped by the events which have unfolded. Some stricken with fear others awe. Kylon himself is amazed at the sight, it's the first time he had seen a Blessed in the flesh.

'What the hell' says the Top Boy.

'Thank you, joseph' says Titus

'You freak, you burn us all alive' says the Top Boy.

'He just doing his job and he is no freak but a loyal knight of the Kingdom, a star' says Titus. Those who are knighted by the Royal family are nicknamed Stars. Most, regardless of their background, know that. Whilst some look down on the Knights, thinking of them as dogs or weapons of the nobles. they all possess abilities, bestowed upon them after nothing through the painful process of the trail of Exa.

'Now can we get on with business or does anyone else have a foolish decision they would like to make' says Titus. Kylon, who stands by Titus's side I in awe of the Aide and the events which have occurred.

'I've got something for ya'. he gestures to his henchmen 'Boys bring the goods' says Marcus Voise. His men bring forward a box and lay it in front of Titus.

'Kid, be a good lad and open it would you' says Titus. Prompting Kylon to action, who is nervous opening the box, with almost all attention focused on him. He opens the box, carefully. Inside he finds an antique flintlock gun, suddenly a thought strikes his mind. One which would explain why Titus wanted him here, him specifically. It was because he worked in a gun shop and would be able to provide expert advice on Items presented in the auction, as this is a gun auction.

'Go on Kid, tell me what you think' says Titus. Kylon lifts the antique weapon from the box and begins to appraise the weapon, inspecting its nooks and crannies.

'It's a 38 AC Flintlock with a custom-crafted handle, the engraving tells me it's from the colonial expeditions, this one's true lord' says Kylon

'The kid knows his guns' says Marcus Voise

'Bring it here' says Titus. Kylon complies with his request and brings the weapon over to Titus who begins to inspect it.

'Why do I always feel like you've got some trick up your sleeve Voise. Where did you get the gun from' asks Titus.

'What does it matter to you?' says Marcus.

'I'd like to know whether or not someone's gonna suddenly ask me to give it back because the item was original theirs' says Titus.

'Trust me, no one's coming to look for it' says Marcus.

'Trusting you is the last thing I'll do Marcus' says Titus

'I've got something for ya lord' says a Top Boy. His henchmen bring out a large box, about half the length of a man.

'That's a big one' says the aide.

'Wait till you see what's inside' says the Top Boy. Kylon opens the box and finds a large cannon within the box.

'The hell did you get a canon from?' asks a Top Boy.

'I don't answer to you, prick' says an area boy

'What did you call me you bastard?' asks an area boy

'gentlemen, if I wanted to see a fight I would go back to the arena. I came here for an auction, did you do the same?' asks Titus.

'Everybody calm down. Our lord here is a man true to his words' says Marcus. 

'Thank you Marcus, now Ky if you would please appraise the item' says Titus.

Kylon begins to inspect the weapon shuffling it as he moves his hands up and down the cannon.

'Is there a problem Ky?' asks Titus. Kylon is unsettled, his inspection has revealed to him the cannon to be a fake. He is cautious to let the information be known in his current environment. Acknowledging the impact his next words could have, he walks to Titus.

'It's a fake my lord' whispers Kylon. Titus dawns a stern gaze towards the Top Boy

'Where did you find the weapon' asks Titus.

'It doesn't matter does it' says the Top Boy.

'Yes, it does, I would like to know' says Titus.
