The First Rose

Your P.O.V:

I woke up to a gentle knock at the door, I live in a one bed one bath apartment on the 5th floor of the apartment building. Getting up, I scratched my head and wonder who could be knocking on my door at 3 in the morning. I check through the peephole and see nothing. . . nothing but a thin and long black box. Hesitantly, I opened the door, not seeing anyone, I pick up the box and rush back inside, sliding the lock back into place, the only sounds being my breathing and the gentle knocking of the chain against the door. I scanned the box , scratching my head again as I slowly pulled the wine red ribbon off of the thin black box. Upon opening it, I saw a single rose and a note. Reading the note, I could immediately tell that this was no ordinary note, but those cliché notes you see in movies from a secret admirer. "To my secret admirer who I see in the halls." Okay. . . so we go to the university together, I wonder what year they are. Looking closer, I see initials. KK. Who could that be? There are so many people at the university with those initials. Who is that..? What are they like..? I like this one guy in my literature class, but it can't be him. . . can it? Enough of that for now, I need to get back to sleep, it has already been an hour. . . 

Kaneki P.O.V

I did it, I really did it. I smiled to myself as I walked back to Anteiku and saw Touka was still working with Irimi, Yoshimura, and Yomo. I turned red as Irimi asked how it went and I started to say what happened.  "Well. . . I couldn't give it to them in person, so I left it in a black box outside the door with a note and I left." I looked away when Touka came over and gave me a hug. "With everything that we went through over the last year, it makes sense that you would be anxious, you will get there, Kaneki." I smiled and kissed her forehead, a habit that we had decided to keep after breaking up from a year long relationship. I smiled shyly at Touka and yawned, going upstairs to my new home in Anteiku. My childhood home had been destroyed in a CCG attack and Mr. Yoshimura wanted me in Anteiku. I accepted the offer and now I'm here.

Your P.O.V
I got up out of bed, tired from being up so early in the morning. I did my whole morning routine before catching the bullet train to the university. I arrived and ran up the steps into the building. I started as a student part of the study abroad program, then I fell in love with Japan and moved here. I miss it back at home, but I have no place to call home. My home burned down to cover any trace of my parents murder, I was able to escape and get to my aunt, but she passed away soon after. I shook my head to forget about that for now. I am in Japan and I am doing so much better here than I was at home. 

Kaneki P.O.V

I was sitting in the front of the auditorium when I saw you walk by. I wanted to hold you and touch you. I wanted to kiss you and cuddle you. I wanted to be your rock and your shoul-. I looked back and saw you talking to Nishiki, I felt my face going red and my ears going hot as I saw you laugh from him. As I saw you laughing from another man. And as I saw you blush from him flirting with you. I stood up, knocking over my chair and ran out into the hallway and past you both.

Your P.O.V

"I- Kaneki?" I watched him stop.

Kaneki P.O.V

I stopped. I was afraid. Afraid for what you would say. Afraid for what you would do. Afraid for you catching on to what was wrong.

Your P.O.V

"Kaneki, wait for me, yeah?" I smiled warmly and said goodbye to Nishiki, catching up to Kaneki soon after. "Kaneki, hi! How are you?"

Kaneki P.O.V

"How am I...? I-" I was not used to being asked how I was unless it came from Hide, my face went pink now, but I stopped blushing as I soon saw that towering structure fall and I found myself getting crushed, and my vision faded away.
