Natasha's Pov:
The bell dings above my head as I walk into the familiar coffee shop. 'Leslie and Koy' It's been here forever. The coffee shop is as tiny as I remember, if not even smaller. Two tiny tables crammed up against the glass leaving just enough space for a line at the counter. It's unusual to be back here, the little town just outside of Ohio. I've always meant to come back I just never got around to it, what with all the work. Which is actually what brought me here.
22:04 yesterday an unidentified object crashed into the town, leaving an enormous crater and a dozen critically injured. Although they're lucky no one's dead. At least not yet. Who knows what's on that, for all we know it could be endangering. I order a hazelnut latte and walk back outside. Leaning against the wall, breathing in all that dusty air. Looking around all I see is large buildings covered in moss, the roads are worn out and the streets are empty. I never used to be like this. It used to be thriving, cheerful little houses, happy people everywhere, birds flying from tree to tree. The town was filled to the brim with mockingbirds, the children used to scatter seeds on the streets and watch as the mockingbirds pecked at them. Now a few stray mockingbirds wander around town. What happened to this town, I don't know. I missed the way it was, still being back here gives me a sense of nostalgia.
