"Come on, Emma. You can do it, baby girl." I kneel down a few feet from her as she stands up on the table.

Emma toddles around until she faces me, letting go of the table. She takes one step, then another, until she finally makes it to me. "You're such a big girl! I'm so proud of you, Emma!"

"I wish your daddy was with us to see you take your first steps..." I play with her hair she then I let her walk around. My phone rings from my back pocket, so I take it out and see it's Nathan calling. I don't know if I should even talk to him.

He's ignored all my texts and phone calls over the past three days. I didn't even know if he was alive. The only way I would've been able to tell is if I looked at Twitter or Instagram to see pictures of him and his fans.

"What do you want? You haven't answered my texts or any of my calls, Nathan. There could've been an emergency with Emma. I've been really worried about you. And you just missed Emma's fi-"

"Maya, I'm so sorry. I've been crazy busy and barely had time to tell my mum that I'm busy."

"Emma took her first steps. You missed it." My eyes water up quickly, but I try not to let him notice that I'm upset. "Her daddy should've been here to see it..."

He sighs loud enough for me to hear through the phone. "My baby took her first steps? I-I can't believe I missed it! I'll be there soon. I hope she'll do it again for me." Soon we both hang up, and I pick up Emma to get ready to feed her.

I still breastfeed, but not every day. I'm trying to wean her off before she turns one. I guide her to my breast and then see her latch on quickly. "You won't be able to do this in a couple months, baby. Mama is going to give you a bottle soon."

After Emma is done eating, I hear the front door open the close immediately after. I'm so glad that he's finally home. I've wanted him to be here with Emma and me. "Hey, baby girl." He takes Emma from my arms then he kisses her forehead. "Can you walk for me? I really want to see you walk."

She wriggles out of his arms and wobbles for a moment, then stands up for a few seconds before plopping down on her bottom. Nathan shakes his head and helps her back on her feet, setting her next to me. "Emma, please, walk for me. Do it for daddy."

"Dada!" Emma giggles, clapping her hands as she takes a few steps over to him. "Dada!"

"You did it!" He scoops her up in his arms and kisses her face all over. "Daddy is proud of you, sweetheart. I love you so so very much."

I couldn't be mad because neither of us could help but smile at her. We're incredibly proud of her. Our baby girl is finally walking. I can't believe she's growing up so fast. She'll be one in just a few months. Can I just have my baby girl stay this little forever?

"Let's go out tonight...just the three of us; you, Emma, and me." Nathan looks up at me and smiles, just like when I met him at school and told him I had a daughter that was his. He holds my hand and then kisses it. "How does that sound?" I nod and smile up at him. What's the harm in going out to dinner with him and Emma?

We arrive at the restaurant around seven in the evening. I dressed up Emma and myself for tonight. We order our drinks and food then I start feeding Emma her bottle. "Why did we go out tonight?" I take a sip of wine and look up into his eyes.

"I love my girls so much and missed spending time with you." He reaches his hands across the table and holds my hands in his.

He's a real charmer; no wonder over two million girls love him. He's cute, sweet, has a fantastic singing voice, and cares a lot about his fans. He is anything but selfish.

"You know, I was hesitant about telling you about Emma because I figured you would've been one of those guys who would deny his child and not help me take care of her." I look down, feeling my eyes water up quickly. "I'm sorry, and I shouldn't have gone straight to that stereotype."

"It's okay, Maya. I understand why. I'm glad you told me. If you hadn't, I don't know if I would have met you. You've made me happier than I ever was, and I didn't think it was possible."

Once we're finished with dinner, I see Nathan stand up and then kneel down in front of me on one knee. What is he doing? Is he gonna propose? "O-oh, my god." I cover my mouth and feel tears run down my cheeks. "Nathan, what exactly are you doing?"

"Making the best decision of my entire life." He holds my left hand in his and opens up a small, velvet-covered box. "Maya Grace Swanson, I love you so so much. I don't want anyone else to have you. Will you marry me?"

My heart races when I hear those four words. It seems like hours pass before I open my mouth to give Nathan my answer. I want to say yes, and I have to say yes. I love him just as much as he loves Emma and me, and I'm gonna say yes to him. We're gonna be married and be a family.

"Yes! Yes!" A big smile comes across his face as he slips on the ring. He stands up and kisses me with so much passion. He picks me up off my chair as we hear everyone else in the restaurant cheer for us.

"You have no idea how happy you've made me, Maya." Nathan grabs Emma and kisses her cheek. "You should be our flower girl at the wedding, and everyone will love you to pieces."

Emma giggles happily, clapping her hands then she hugs Nathan's neck. "Love you!"

"We love you too, baby girl." He puckers his lips, and Emma does too, then he pecks her lips.

About four months later, I see my small, round belly in the mirror. It's kind of weird to see myself pregnant again. I'm almost five months along. Today we're going to the doctor to find out if we're having twin boys, twin girls, or a twin boy and a twin girl. I'm really nervous.

"Maya Sykes?" A nurse opens the door and then looks over at Nathan and me. "Come with me." We follow her back then I get weighed and led back to a room with an ultrasound machine. I lie back on the table and pull up my shirt. The technician puts gel on my stomach, then she grabs the wand and rubs it gently over my belly. Nathan holds one of my hands with his free hand while Emma is held in his other arm. "Baby!" Emma giggles excitedly.

"Em, mommy is having two babies...not just one." Nathan looks at her and smiles. The technician smiles at them.

"I see a baby boy, and the other baby is a..." The woman shows us the other baby on the screen. "...also a boy. You have twin boys. Congratulations, you three. I'll print out some sonograms for you to keep then you can schedule your next appointment."

When she leaves the room, Nathan helps me off the bed. I grab the pictures and look at them, smiling. "Our boys." I hold onto Nathan's hand and feel a tear roll down my cheek. "Our little boys."
