Rory's POV

"I have to let go." He said. "I'm not leaving you."

"No!" I screamed.

He looked down at me.

Please.

I silently pleaded

"Just let me go. Pull yourself up. Please." I whispered.

He smiled, that annoying smile I had come to love.

He shook my head.

"I'm not gonna let you go." With that, He let go of the cliff and we plummeted into the dark, holding on to me.

I wrapped my arms around him and closed my eyes.

This was it. After everything, this was the end.

Then I hit something hard, and everything went black.

I opened my eyes.

Wait what? Am I dead? Is this the afterlife?

"Nope. We're both very much alive."

I heard a voice come from somewhere, and I realized I'd said that out loud. It was too dark to see though.

I got up and winced. My head hurt so bad. I definitely broke some bones. And it was super cold.

"Chase? where are you?" I tried saying. It came in a low whisper. It felt weird to talk. And it was really hard. My throat hurt. Every part of me hurt.

A light flashed in my face.

"I found the flashlight. It also survived the fall." Chase said shakily. Then after a pause, "we're alive."

"Yeah." I said. The unspoken words hung there. But How?

There was no way we could have survived that. We fell at least 500 feet down. (Is that a lot? Idk I'm too dumb for this)

I tried to move towards where Chase was. I have no idea how I managed it, but it hurt. A lot.

Somehow I made it to the wall Chase was leaning against. He wrapped his arms around me and I snuggled into his chest.

"You're warm." I whispered.

I lost track of how much time we sat there, but no one said a thing. I didn't want to open my eyes. I didn't want to think of what was happening, and how we might never make it out alive.
I wanted to stay snuggled into his arms, forgetting about all of our problems. Just focus on him.

But of course, that could never happen.

After a while, I felt Chase move a bit. "Rory? You awake?"

I opened my eyes and looked around. "Yeah."

"We have to get going," he said, unwrapping his arms from around me. I wished he hadn't. I wished we could just stay like that. But I knew he was right. If we ran into any more trouble... I didn't know how much more we could take.

I got up and looked around. "Uhh which way?" It was too dark for us to see.

"I don't know...." We both squinted our eyes trying to look for an opening somewhere.

There was none. Or at least none that I could see. "Looks like we're trapped."

This was short I know. I've been stuck on this line for months trying to figure out what else to write. I actually have no idea so yeah I'm just gonna update this and figure that out later
