Me? On Aiden Pyren's matchmaking list? As high as #41? Definitely unexpected. All I knew about him was that he was Caden's brother and Jolie's ex or something. And not so mention that half that school was crushing on him. Thankfully enough, I wasn't a part of that half. I had enough boy problems already. Speaking of which, I hadn't seen Neil the entire summer break. According to Mina, he'd been hiding in his room and was acting really weird. Not to mention that I was sort of avoiding Jacob after what happened in Elvin History. I was known to get my revenge when I was badly treated. This was no different. I needed to find a way to spite Jacob, to make him jealous and regret doubting me in the first place. And here was the perfect opportunity. Aiden's Winnowing Gala. All I had to do was take Hydra as my plus one, look stunning, flirt with Aiden, and make sure that Jacob found out. I was already excited for the sweet taste of revenge. --- I continued on my trek to the cafeteria, and of course, being the clumsy person I am, I bumped into someone. I looked up and opened my mouth to apologize, but no words came out. I was too stunned to see the dark haired, bright eyed boy I hadn't seen in weeks. His expression was much sharper, colder, and darker than I remembered, and there was a strange cloudiness in his eyes. "What do you want?" Neil snapped at me. I looked down, the guilt of hurting him spreading over me once again. "You can't seem to keep your eyes on your own two feet, can you? I knew you were a selfish, thoughtless loser ever since I-" "HEY!" I whirled around to the shout. Will strode towards Neil, a pissed look on his face. "What did you just say to my sister, you jerk?" Neil scoffed. "I said nothing but the truth." SMACK! Will's fist collided with Neil's cheek, making the latter stumble back with a mutter of, "Oh, you'll regret that." He lunged for my twin and they fell to the ground, wrestling and cursing at each other. "Will! Neil! Stop!" I screamed desperately, "cut it out!" An infuriated emotion tingled through my veins, and the next thing I knew, a wall of angry red flames were surrounding me. Somehow, my feet slowly lifted off the ground, but I was too distracted by the pain in my head to notice. I let out a scream as I felt my head was about to explode, clutching my head as a burst of red light resembling lightning slammed into the two boys, knocking them out. In a flash, the flames were gone and my feet were planted on the ground one again. The amount of pain I was experiencing was insane, the room was spinning, and I felt like throwing up, but I forced my brain to steady myself, trying to process what just happened. I was only on my second breath when someone shouted, "She's an inflictor!" The breath caught in my throat. An third ability? I shook my head. This crisis could be solved another time. For now, let's just focus on getting these two to Elwin. Ignoring the fact that everyone was starting to point at me and whispered to each other, I gathered all the mental energy I had left to levitate them out of the cafeteria and down the hall to the healing center, a path I knew all too well. Deep down in my gut I knew although I hoped it wasn't true. I'd just manifested a new ability. I was an inflictor.
