The next day, you go on DSMP group chat. They're all having fun, sending each other hilarious memes, and joke ship-art for DNF, aka DreamNotFound, some things the fans made up, but might possibly be a thing. George was yelling in group chat for them to stop, but Dream didn't seem to be doing anything. You laugh, and remember what it's like to have friends. This group especially, supports you, and cares about you.

You're hoping to continue your lore, which, is oddly complicated, even though you've only been on the SMP for a few months.

You rub your temples, a headache forming in your head. Screen time must have really messed with your brain. Suddenly your phone's notification ding goes off, and you check the screen. The words on the screen make your heart skip a beat. It's from Alex. You grab your phone as fast as you can.

"No, no puede ser," you say, which basically translated your bewilderment. You got a text from Alex that wasn't on group chat, You didn't even know if it was possible, then you realized you were being WAY overdramatic. It was more of what the text said. You knew he was playing around, because he was playful, and liked to joke, but the words on the screen,

"Hola, hermosa :)" felt special to you. He was that type of friend, to be all flirty in a joke-way, so you could never tell when he was serious. But the words "Hello, beautiful" really made your breath catch. It was sweet in the right way, and even though you acted sassy and annoyed sometimes, something like this made you reveal your emotions that you had to cope with.

Now this made you finally realize: You had to respond. You couldn't just put this off forever. But then, you had to think, how would you respond?

You were generally bad with stuff like this, normally put it off as a joke or make up some cheesy pickup line. But-this was-possibly your only chance. You bit your lip, thinking hard. You type in the words, "Hey Alex." Simple, but you didn't think he would reply. Somehow, he's always online, and you could see the 'typing' animation in the corner of your phone. He typed back, "Hru, Y/n?"

This part was easy. You typed, "Good, hbu?"

The next thing he said caught you by surprise.

"Y/n...are you free Friday?"

You cocked your head to the side. Was he-no. He couldn't be. Probably just some excuse to do a stream with people other than Karl and Sapnap. You typed in, as fast as you could, "I am. Why do u want to know???" You giggled, and waited for his response.

"Haha. Hilarious. Well..."

"Yes?" You go on, waiting for his reply.

"Wellllllll...do u wanna get coffee, maybe?"

Your cheeks flush a bright red. You had hoped this is what he was going to say, and it seemed half like a dream. You type in a response as fast as your tiny phone keyboard will let you, and it's accidentally in all caps, so it comes out as this: "YES!!"

Alex responds with, "Why so eager, Y/n? 😏"

You realize that was probably a mistake doing all caps, and so urgent-sounding, so you say back, "😑 I don't have to go, yk-"

Alex types back, "Alright, alright, hermosa. C u Friday then :)"

"That went well," you say out loud. You can feel yourself blushing. Was he-interested in you? No. He couldn't be. He wanted to hang out, like a friend. But, your heart wasn't listening to your mind, fluttering with the possibility that he might like you. You think of how perfect he looks, and the fantasy is gone. You look terrible, at least in your eyes. You sigh, and go to bed earlier than usual.

The next few days pass by slower than they should. Your anticipation for Friday just builds up more and more, until finally, the day is here. You shouldn't be this nervous, it's just going to get coffee with someone you've known for awhile. But you plan out your outfit carefully and pay attention to how much makeup you're using.

You're not that extra, but-this felt too special. Every little detail mattered. Finally, it was time. Eleven twenty-five. You walk out to your car, and realize the day is a LOT colder than it should be. You shiver, but don't bother to get a jacket, it's not like it's freezing. You start driving, and play some of Dream's songs on the playlist in your car, and have a great time until you arrive at the coffee shop. You walk inside nervously. Alex is sitting at a small table, and he sees you and waves at you. You walk over, and sit down. He smiles at you, and you blush.

His chocolate-brown eyes were so romantic and dark, and he was wearing that beanie he would never take off, even you had never seen all of his hair. His gaze bores into you, but it's gentle. "Hey," he says softly. "How are you, Y/n? You find that talking is easier than you would have expected. And then you realize: This is the friend you've been joking all the time with, and having so much fun-and you both suddenly seem shy.

You wonder why it's so much harder to talk with him in real life, and you long for an easy conversation with nothing awkward. He clears his throat. "Well, wanna go up to the counter and get drinks? I'm paying, of course." You nod. "Thanks-and you didn't have to do that, duck boy," you reply, going back to the nickname you first called him when you met him. His eyes sparkle at the flashback of the name. But, being Quackity, he already had some snappy yet sweet comeback ready. "Sorry, hermosa, but I'm paying. You really thought I'd let you? I guess you don't really know me." He mocks disappointment. You roll your eyes, and this finally feels like the way you used to act around each other, much more natural. This comforts you. "Come on, let's just go get drinks."

You go and order your drinks, and go back to your table, finally feeling comfortable with each other again. You chat about Minecraft, which seems totally lame, but it's your job to play games, so it's really not that stupid. Your drinks arrive, and you drink them. You seem to be getting along just like you used to, but then Alex compliments you, and you try to cover your flushed cheeks.

A compliment from him, especially makes your heart beat faster. You go back to being the shy version of yourself for the rest of your time there, and then you head back home, sad to be leaving him. The coffee date was a success, but-Alex didn't really show any signs of crushing. You think, well, he probably doesn't like you anyway, but your stupid ass heart tells you differently. You shake your head, and fall asleep earlier than you ever have, and your dreams are giddy and happy, even though you don't feel it. You decide in a few days, you're going to stream. Twitch is where you're happiest, spending time with all your friends and laughing.

Hey guys! That chapter gave me butterflies as I typed it. Imagine Quackity calling you beautiful. *Sighs* Anyway, hope you enjoyed it! Byeeee and onto the next chapter!! ~Cloudy
