The journey was already off to a bad start. First of all, Apollo had visited Aurora in her dreams and warned her of the love goddess making a surprise visit.

"But dad I haven't had a crush on someone since I had a slight thing for Katie. Now I can't even imagine myself with her! She's my best friend and we would make a horrible couple!" Aurora shuddered at the thought of her and Katie being a couple. Katie was too nice for her, and Aurora was definitely too much of a bitch for Katie to find her attractive. Plus, Travis Stoll had already taken her heart. (even though she was too stubborn to admit it)

"I know sunshine. I'm afraid you might be Aphrodite's newest obsession. She's been neglecting her duties slightly and I'm worried about you." He said while laying on the hammock that he conjured up. Aurora frowned at the revelation that her dad just said.

"Oh and uh, how's your mom?" Apollo asked nervously. He picked his nails out of habit. (yes gods can have nervous habits too)

"She's good, went on a date with some doctor, apparently didn't work out." Aurora shrugged and stole a couple of grapes off her dad's bowl.

"Oh really? That's a shame, she's a lovely woman. Shame that she hasn't dated anyone in a while." Apollo said, not sorry at all.

"Dad, I know what you're trying to ask." Aurora tapped her foot on the ground in annoyance.

"Ok so I like to keep tabs on your mother, sue me." Apollo said while putting his hands up in the air in defense.

"You are so not over her." Aurora smirked and laughed at her dad. He laughed and ruffled her hair.

"I am definitely not, kiddo. I am definitely not." He smiled and shook his head to focus on the task at hand.

"Be careful of Aphrodite, she likes to pick and choose demigods to be in her little love games, and those games always end up in disaster. But since you are going on your first official quest, I present to you this." Apollo slid the ring off of his index finger. "Your mother actually wanted to use it as our wedding bands, but you know, gods can't marry mortals and stuff, so I had it made into a weapon instead. This is similar to the necklace you have, once you take it off, you can think of anything, and it will turn into it. This one is limited to only things that you can use during battle, medical supplies included. I have a feeling it will be useful." Apollo dropped it into Aurora's palm and closed her hand around it. Aurora looked at the ring and examined it closely. There you could see a small engraving on the inside. On the inside of the ring you could see a small sun and a stethoscope on the inside. Aurora stared at the ring in awe.

"This is a beautiful ring dad." She sobered up and looked up to see an indescribable emotion on Apollo's face.

"It was a beautiful ring for a beautiful girl." Apollo smiled softly. "Now it is yours, use it well, sunshine." He ruffled her hair one more time before snapping his fingers. She awoke right before the sunrise hit the side of the cabin. She smiled at the dream and silently agreed for herself to guard her presents from her father with her life. Since her dad had woken her up at sunrise, she had some time before the quest. She quietly made her way towards the dock and sat down. She basked in the sunlight until her sensitive hearing had picked up on someone coming up behind her.

"If you're trying to scare me, I would stop now, I have fantastic hearing being the daughter of the music god." Aurora said laughing when she saw that the son of Poseidon was holding his chest because he got scared by her.

"That was so unfair." Percy whined before he silently asked if he could take a seat beside her. She subtly nodded yes and he sat down listening to the sound of the waves. "Are you nervous?" He asked quietly while trying to make random waves in the ocean.
