JJ POV
When we landed in India, we immediately went to work at finding where the hell Tomlinson was and what he was doing. Walking in public though, was a little bit uncomfortable when you constantly have people scolding you. At first, I couldn’t place my finger on why, but then reality slapped me in the face and I realized we weren’t dressed appropriately. Or at least not appropriate for the culture in India. Even some officers stopped in their tracks to look at us.
So we decided to just work from the hotel we were staying at. AJ was almost always on her computer trying to track Tomlinson down. I, on the other hand, am useless unless I’m out on the field or finding ways to approach targets, but until we figure all of this out, I’m just there.
AJ and I shared a room with two twin beds, while Harry and Niall shared another. I don’t know what they were doing in their room, probably something similar to what is going on in here. I fall back onto the bed. I look over at AJ as she closes her laptop and sighs. “Any luck?” I ask hopefully.
She shakes her head, ”Nope. I couldn’t think of a logical reason for him to be here in India. If I came up with something it’d be easier to narrow the options.” She lays back and looks up at the ceiling.
“I assumed it was important if he missed his sisters’ birthday. Even if he is Tomlinson, I would assume he cared about his family,” she mentions. I shrug my shoulders. “Maybe he’s here for the food,” she adds.
“Yeah, because I bet he just loves curry that much,” I chuckle and roll my eyes at her statement. Suddenly, something snaps together in my head. “Wait, did you say that one of his little sister’s said he promised to come?”
She nods confused, “Yeah. What about it?”
I sit up and turn towards her, “He promised. He was most likely planning to go, but something got in the way.”
“Something came up that he just had to take care of,” she says, starting to catch up, “something important enough… but what could it be?”
“That’s just what need to find out. But it can’t be for the food…so we somewhat narrowed the results. Now lets think… what’s more important than family?” She scrunched up her face in though then shakes her head.
“I wouldn’t know, I don’t have any family,” she replies without emotion. I mentally slap myself for asking that question.
“Okay, never mind then. Maybe something happened with a friend,” I suggest. She nods and grabs her computer. She types for several minutes on end. “What are you doing?”
Without looking away from the screen, she holds up her index finger as she tells me to wait. She clicks on the mouse pad a couple times then looks up at me. “He’s going to a wedding.”
“A wedding? Whose?”
“A guy whose name I will even attempt to pronounce.”
“What’s this person’s relation to Tomlinson?” I question.
“I don’t know, it doesn’t say. But, it looks like we’re going to a wedding tomorrow.”
“Wouldn’t we need something decent to wear?” I ask.
She puts he hand up to stop me. “Don’t worry. I have connections.” I look at her questioningly.
“Connections? You have connections here, in India?”
“Pffft, no. But I did see a shop on the way here who does fittings for the dressing and stuff. But that’ll have to wait for tomorrow too, it’s already dark.”
