Sirius
Sept, 1983

It was a rather casual night at home. Millie was 1 year old, and Harry was 3 years old. Sirius painted with Millie, while Harry 'helped' Remus with dinner. After dinner, Harry was showing Millie how to play with her toys on a blanket in the kitchen as Sirius and Remus cleaned up.

Harry was showing Millie how to to pass a ball by rolling it to her, and explaining how to roll it back, which she did and he praised. Remus and Sirius watched and smiled as they saw their two little kids sharing and laughing.

And then, Millie farted, and let out the word "Shit!"

Sirius looked at Remus in total shock, unsure whether to be upset, or laugh out loud. It took everything in both of them not to laugh. "At least she used it correctly." Sirius joked.

"Where did she learn that? I know it was my fault with Harry, but I stopped swearing around the kids after that incident." Remus said.

"I don't swear around them either!" Sirius defended.

"Well we need to try to explain why that's wrong." Remus said.

"Yeah." Sirius agreed with a sigh.

Then it happened again. A fart, followed by the word "Shit!" from Millie, and this time Harry burst out laughing.

"Millie, no!" Sirius instructed.

"It's not appropriate to say things like that. That's a no no." Remus explained.

Sirius pulled Harry aside.

"Harry, you can't laugh if she does that again. That will just make her do it more. Believe me, I know how hard it is not to laugh, I wanted to as well. But we can't encourage her. There are times when it's appropriate and times when it's not, and when you are as young as you and Millie are, it's not appropriate. Ok?" Sirius explained.

"Ok Unco Siri. I'm sorry, it was just really funny." Harry answered.

"It's ok, you didn't know." Sirius said. "Hug?"

"Hug." Harry answered, and gave Sirius a big cuddly hug that only little kids can give.
