Mr. Schue said that it would be good if the Glee Club took a trip to Carmel High to see their club preform. It was as if he wanted them to be more insecure about how they were. Once they finally got there, they promptly went straight to the food court since it was a long ride and they hadn't eaten anything. Standing in line, Mariana was growing slightly frustrated because it seemed to be taking forever.

"Forget this," She walked off to find something to keep her occupied until the show started. Mariana was walking until a case of trophies caught her eyes. The girl was so immersed in looking at them that she didn't even notice a presence next to her.

"Impressed?" She jumped back to see a boy who looked a couple years older than her with soft, slightly curly hair and blue/green eyes.

"Yeah, it's a lot of trophies. My school doesn't have this many." She nodded at the boy next to her before looking back at the case.

"Yeah, I won us all of them. All these trophies right here." He pointed to the three that were on the left."Those are Nationals, won three years in a row, four, if we count this year." He randomly bragged to her. Maria felt her brows raise up in confusion. She didn't even ask him to tell her about them.

"Wow, so modest." She sarcastically hummed, tilting her head slightly.

"I try to be." He shrugged, not catching that she wasn't being serious.

"I wasn't- never mind." She shook her head, changing topics."What's your name?" She felt as if she recognized him from somewhere

"Jesse St. James."

Maria felt her eyes go slightly wide. So that's where she knew him from.

"And you?" He looked down at her since he somewhat towered over her.

"Mariana Lopez. Maria, for short."

"Like West Side Story? Or Blondie?" Maria felt a smile tug up at her lips. Growing up, the girl loved the musical and the Blondie song since they had her name in it. She would even tell people that she was named after them.

Her mom neither confirmed nor denied if she was named after them.

"Both, St James." She nodded at the boy who smiled back just a little. He was about to start talking again when a bell started ringing, singling that the show was about to start.

"I have to go." He turned his back, starting to walk away before stopping to look at her again."Will you cheer me on?" He had a smirk on his lips.

Maria shrugged her shoulders."I'll have to see if you're as good as you say you are." She smiled at him one last time as they went their opposite ways.
