I'm exhausted after my morning shift at the diner but I promised Spencer I'd hang out with him, and when you promise that guy anything he takes it seriously. So after I headed towards the boy's house, it's relatively quiet when I enter except for the sound of Spencer mumbling. I find him sitting on the couch in their living room playing Mario Kart, on the Wii. He's a child, end of discussion.
"Hey," I call out to Spencer as I walk into the kitchen, my phone buzzes, and I turn it over in my hand,
Taryn- Fine, just let me know.
I sigh and pocket my phone before grabbing a bottle of water and heading back to the living room, I dump my stuff near the couch "where is everyone?" I ask.
"Maverick is god knows where, I honestly don't know and Jaiden is still working his night shift."
"What? It's like eleven am."
"Yeah, and he started at eleven pm. He does twelve hours," Spencer laughs and I watch him throw a banana behind him on the tv screen.
"That's not fun," I shake my head. Spencer asks me if I've heard from Genevieve, which I scoff at because of course I have heard from her. She's my best friend and I'm constantly checking up on her. Spencer excuses himself to pee before we decide to play a round of Just Dance.
I stand and head back to the kitchen to drop off my water bottle but get distracted answering Genevieve's text when the front door opens "I said no," a rough voice answers. I turn and almost run into Jaiden.
He glances down at me and I stare at him, he looks exhausted, the curls on top of his head look messy like he's been rubbing his hands through it and he's wearing his glasses. He hardly ever wears his glasses and I've only seen them on a couple of times.
"I said no, it's not up for debate," Jaiden says again still staring at me. "Goodbye," he ends his call.
"You told them straight up," I tell him.
"Yeah giving tough love is my specialty, what the hell are you doing here?" He asks moving past me and into the kitchen.
"Spencer wanted to play Just Dance."
Jaiden laughs, his deep laugh runs shivers down my body. I'm not going to deny my body's attraction to him, but I can't fall for someone like him. "Of course he did," he shakes his head. "Did you just work too?" He asks. I don't know why he's asking, he knows my schedule but I nod anyways.
He leans back on the counter and hums, he's wearing a pair of jeans and a simple black t-shirt, that's my kryptonite and he sadly exceeds the look, especially with his dark green eyes and curly dirty blonde hair.
"You look like you could use a shower," I say leaning my hip on the counter beside him.
"Wanna help?" He raises a brow and I roll my eyes. Jaiden turns and leans his own hip on the counter, stepping close. His six one height towers over my five-six height so I look up at him, he smirks again his water bottle and presses two fingers to my spine pushing me closer.
"Yeah you really need a shower, you smell like tequila."
"I was running the bar all night," he shrugs easily. I don't know where he works, he doesn't say much, he's such a mystery, and fuck I love mysteries. He presses on my spine again, he's been doing this since the day I saw him again at the bar when Genevieve re-introduced us. I grip his wrist, my thumb smoothing over his tattoo, I know he has many but this is one of the more exposed ones.
"Sounds like a fulfilling job," I say.
Jaiden leans close, his lips brushing the shell of my ear, "you know what could be a fulfilling job, me thrusting my cock right into you and you taking it like a good girl."
