I woke up panting with a bead of sweat on my forehead. I'd had a nightmare about myself running. Mya was behind me, and I ran and ran and smashed into a wall. Then Mya tried helping me, but a guy in all black grabbed her and pulled her away. Minutes later I heard a gunshot. Then I woke up. I got out of bed and crept into the hallway and continued down the hall to the bathroom. I flipped on the lights and looked in the mirror. I had a small bald spot, with a few tufts of hair surrounding it. I almost shrieked and I ran into Mom and Dad's room. "Mom?! Mom, please! Wake up, Mom, wake up!" I said in a frantic whisper. "What, Michelle?" Mom replied sitting up and rubbing her eyes. She looked at me and said, "Michelle! What happened?" I shook my head side to side and shrugged. Mom woke up Dad, and he freaked out. "What happened? How did it happen? Are you okay?!" he said frantically. Mom shushed him immediatly and told him to stay here with Mya and Mariah. "No." I protested. "what do you mean, no?" Mom asked, putting her hands on her hips. "I'm not going anywhere without Mya." I said, crossing my arms over my chest. Mom sighed and gave in. "Mya? Mya, wake up. Michelle needs you." when Mom said the last part, Mya shot upright in bed. "What? Oh my god! Michelle what happened?" she said walking over to me in her pajamas. "I don't know." I said, adding a slight frown. "Dillon, I'm going to bring Michelle to the E.R to see why her hair's coming out. Stay here with Mariah." Mom said to Dad. He nodded and walked into our room, probably going to sleep on our couch. Mom hauled us out of the house and into the Station Wagon. Mya and I sat in the back together, and Mya clutched my hand, as I did hers. We arrived at the E.R and it wasn't that busy. A man with a gash on his head was sitting on a chair, holding a washcloth to his head. And a girl with broken arm waited. Mom rushed to the desk and said "I came here to find out why my daughter is losing hair. She's never lost a strand before." Mom said it a little rushed. "Okay, you'll need to wait but, hair loss is usually the first sign of cancer." the woman replied. I squeezed Mya's hand and Mom, Mya, and I gasped.
