"Going to meet a friend."
🌀
"I look good. I look good. I look good."
Drishti kept on repeating those words as she looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a crimson bodycon for her date with Vivaan.
"This looks too exaggerated!" She cried out in frustration and fell back into the soft mattress of her bed.
"Skirt!" She said aimlessly. She then jumped up from her bed, ran towards her wardrobe, flung it open, and pulled out a red plaid mini skirt and a long-sleeved top. She put it on and looked at herself in the mirror.
She let out a satisfied sigh. She pulled her black hair into a bun; applied eyeliner and red lipstick for the final touch.
"I will be late!" She shouted at her mom who was working in her room.
"Why?" Her mom asked.
"Going to meet a friend." She didn't wait for her mom to reply as she slipped out of the house. She put on her black boots and walked out in the street. She looked at her wristwatch. It displayed the time: 19:55
She knew it won't take Vivaan long to reach Pixie Café. He lived in Rua Emidio Gracia which was barely 2 minutes from 18th June Road. It was on her to reach on time. She didn't like getting 'fashionably late' on a date with Vivaan.
She was just scared she would run into Shriya. If there wasn't any fault in her stars, she was sure she won't run into her.
Her phone beeped, indicating that she had received a message. She checked the notification.
Vivaan.
Vivaan had sent her a message.
I am here. - Vivaan
I'm on my way. - Drishti
Everybody keep me safe. - Vivaan
Oh, shut up. I am not singing the song. - Drishti
I know, sweetheart ;) - Vivaan
Heat rushed to Drishti's cheeks. He called her 'sweetheart'.
He didn't confess his undying love for you, Drishti scolded herself, mentally. Stop acting childish.
Flirty, are we? - Drishti
Maybe. - Vivaan
See you. - Drishti
See you. - Vivaan
She shook her, a smile plastered on her lips. She was happy. She hoped Shriya would understand and won't make a mess out of it.
For God's sake, it's Vivaan who they were talking about! Of course, Shriya would understand. He was important, more important than her movie night.
She was still contemplating whether she should call her friend and inform her or not.
The last thing she wanted now was to listen to Shriya talk about how disappointed she was with Drishti. That would ruin her mood.
Let her deal with her tantrums, she thought.
She huffed thinking how annoying her best friend can get at times.
She looked ahead of her.
Pixie Café.
She had reached.
Her veins had stopped pumping blood and instead were pumping adrenaline. She felt nauseous.
What if she said something wrong? What if she wasn't looking good?
She felt nervous.
You are gonna be alright, she told herself. She pulled herself together and walked into the cafe.
What she didn't know was that her stars weren't that lucky. Shriya saw her. Shriya's eyes widened as the feeling of betrayal settled on her chest. Tears brimmed at the corner of her eyes, threatening to overflow. She would tolerate everything but. She hated Drishti at that moment. She chose a boy over heir friendship. Drishti didn't even bother to call her to tell her she won't turn up.
She knew at the very moment: the old Drishti was lost forever.
There was indeed fault in Drishti's stars.
A/N- Short chapter. Super short, I know but you have to work with it for now. Don't forget to vote and comment.
