Kara Rose and the Forgotten Spells (book one)

Chapter 2- Diagon Alley

(Yay new chapter! Hope you guys love it as much as we love you!)

        When Kara and her cousins, Ron, Fred, George and Percy were finished eating breakfast, they headed over to the fire place with Molly, to use the Floo Network, to get to Diagon Alley. This was also Kara's first time using the Floo Network.

        Her cousins went in one by one, then finally it was her turn.

        "Remember, say it very clearly" Molly said, handing her some Floo powder.

       Slowly and Clearly she said, "Diagon Alley", and before the powder could touch the floor of the fire place, she was engulfed in green flames.

        She found herself in  front of a store called ''Flourish and Blotts", which she guessed was where she was to buy her school books.

        ''Okay, Percy, make sure Fred, George and Ron dont get in to any trouble, I'm taking Kara to Gringotts bank, to see what her parents gave her" Molly said, looking at Fred and George.

        Gringotts was a large marble buildin, that was used as the wizarding bank, run by goblins. They walking in, and over to the front desk. 

        "Would like to go in to the Rose's vault" Said Molly. The Goblin at the front desk, looked like he was annoyed by there presence.

Thats probably how all Goblins are, Kara thought to herself.

        "Do you have the key" The Goblin said, dully.

        Molly dug through her bag, and pulled out a small sliver key with the letter R carved in at the top, and showed it to the goblin.

        He nodded and took them to the vault, on a cart thingy. 

        Gringotts must be very complicated, Kara thought to herself, as they skidded to a stop infront of a large vault door. Molly put the key in the lock and the vault door swung open.

        Inside there was a large pile of Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts, the wizarding money. Molly gasped at the sight of so much money. The Weasleys weren't the most wealthiest family.

        Kara ran in and grabbed enough to buy what she planned on buying, and put it in her enchanted bag that she had gotten for Christmas, which was really just one of her mothers old messenger bags with the Undetectable Extension Charm, which really came in handy when hiding sweets from her cousins. She grabbed another handful and gave it to her Aunt.

        Molly looked shocked, "You should keep that, I don't need it'"

"I insist," Kara said smiling.

        As they were leaving the vault, something caught Kara's eye. A small blue- purple locket laid on the floor. She picked it up and shoved it in her bag.

        They walked out of Gringotts and over to Ollivanders, the wand makers. 

        "Go ahead inside, I'll find the boys" Molly said smiling.

        Kara walked in and saw rows upon rows of wand boxes.

        "I was wondering when I'd see you here, Miss Rose," said a voice from rows back. Ollivander walked out from behind the rows of wands, holding three boxes. He walked over to his desk, put the boxes down, opened one, took out the wand and handed it to Kara, "Oak, eleven inches, dragon heart swing, a little bendy, give it a swish"

        Kara took the wand, and gave it a swish, stuff exploded, Kara felt embarressed.

        "Oops" 

        "Not to worry, the wand chooses the witch, Miss. Rose," said Ollivander. He opened another box, took out the wand, and handed it to Kara,"Fifteen and a half inches, dogwood, Phoenix feather, very stertile"

        Kara gave the wand a swish. Again more stuff expoded.

        "Not to worry," Ollivander pulled out another wand."Nine inches, Holly,  Unicorn hair, sterlie, small, but very powerful"

        Kara looked at the wand. It was a beautiful, brown almost red colour, with a pattern of flowers swirling around the handle. She took the wand and could immediatly know that this was the wand for her. Kara looked up at Olivander, and smiled. He nodded.

        "Very well, that'll be nineteen galleons and three sickles" Kara gave Ollivander the money and put the wand in her bag.

        She walked out of Ollivanders and didnt  see her Aunt nor her cousins. She shugged and walked to the pet shop, Magical Menagerie. In the pet shop, were animals of all shapes and sizes, but the animal that really cought her eye was a small black and white cat with bright, crystal blue eyes. She bought the cat, and named her Sapphire.

        Kara found her cousins eating ice cream at Florean Fortescue's. 

        "That thing better not eat Scabbers" Ron said finishing his Ice Cream cone and pointing at his ugly fat rat.

        "Sure... But why do you care so much about him anyways, he's ugly, fat, and old", Kara said looking at Scabbers, who seemed to to be giving her the rat death look.
