In no time at all, Mickey's Gummi Ship took Sora all the way back to the Mysterious Tower. Donald Duck and Goofy Goof, in their Disney Castle attire, stood on guard.
"Welcome back, Sora," Donald greeted.
"How was your trip?" Goofy asked.
Hearing this, Sora stopped dead, his face trying very hard not to express any pain.
"Just fine," he said smartly.
Hia eyes darting all around in different directions at breakneck speed, he hoped that Master Xehanort wasn't watching. Playing it safe, he asked.
"Are Riku and Kairi here?"
"They're in Yen Sid's office," Goofy explained. "And they're waiting for you."
Sora looked up at the tall tower. There were no signs of his two friends from his vantage point, but it was safe to say that they were too far inside. Taking in a breath of air that crossed between the scent of grass and pine and the vacuum of space, he walked to the door with the three animals behind him. Opening them up, the entrance hall greeted him warmly from the cold night of Traverse Town that he had been exposed to for many days, only taking shelter under an open canvas since he could never find a suitable lodge for him to stay in. Even the doors to the hotels were shut tight and he most certainly didn't want to break any windows. He didn't even have any munny.
Anyway, after warming himself up, he proceeded to the stairs. Humbly and calmly, he knocked on the door of Yen Sid's office.
It was Riku who opened the door.
"Well," smiled Sora. "I'm back..."
He gave Riku a quick hug and Kairi joined in, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. The three friends reunited, they, along with Mickey, Donald and Goofy walked up to Yen Sid's desk.
"Now that everyone is assembled," the old wizard began. "I would like to brief you on the current matters at hand. In order to defeat Xehanort we must gather seven guardians of light. Fortunately, one of them, Master Aqua, had managed to form a strong connection Mickey and it is that connection that will help us get to her."
"I can hear her voice calling faintly," Mickey said in a serious tone. "And it comes from the Realm of Darkness. I think I must have heard it when I went to investigate the Heartless crisis two years ago."
And to think, he thought to himself. All this time, I thought she was dead.
Sora seemed a bit anxious and that anxiety was coming from his heart. His consternation overpowered him so much, that he forgot his maturity.
"Well then, what are we waiting for? We should all band together and find her."
"That will not be easy," Yen Sid said. "Finding an entrance into the Realm of Darkness is very difficult. If we were to have found a way to go, there will be no one with enough power to bring Aqua back safely. Which is why I forbid of it."
"Riku and I are ready!" said Mickey in a proud voice. "The both of us will go and save Aqua!"
"What should I do?" asked Kairi.
"Merlin and the three good fairies will help you and Lea with your new Keyblades."
The name "Lea" didn't seem to resonate with Kairi. It was Sora who answered.
"He means Axel. Now I understand what he did, kidnapping you and all that. But he's changed now. He became human again and he saved my life."
I kinda wish he had before that piece got into me. He thought sadly.
