Adaman peeks out after taking shelter as the frenzied Palkia caused a huge explosion to rip through the Temple of Sinnoh. His first thought is to look for you who, from where you were standing pretty much face-to-face with the legendary Pokémon, would have been directly in the firing line of the explosion. He sees Irida out of the corner of his eye and is relieved that she's safe after also taking cover, but his heart is still pounding as he waits for the dust to settle so he can see if you're unharmed. His heart sinks as the dust clears and he sees you on the floor, only for relief to flood through him as you find your feet once again. Now he knows you're okay, he finally takes in the scene around him, only to gasp in horror at the sheer destruction of the temple - everything has been destroyed except for a few pillars resolutely standing as a final memory of the once grand architecture of the place. Honestly, given the destruction, he's stunned any of you survived. He looks forward and his jaw drops to see mighty Dialga standing in front of you, sparking with what looks like (from what he's picked up listening to the Galaxy Team) space-time energy, and suddenly he realises the deity must have protected you all from the blast. In front of you and Dialga is what looks like an enormous vortex of golden energy where Palkia once stood, and he holds his breath, heart racing as he waits to see what emerges. Dialga blasts the vortex with an attack, and he feels fear course through him as it parts to reveal Palkia, but in a completely different form to what he's just seen. It's enormous, even bigger than before, with four powerful hooved legs and a weird ring around its midriff. He gasps as it rears up in front of you, absolutely terrified as he worries that you're going to get hurt, before you seem to steady yourself and run forward to start throwing balms at it to stop its frenzy.
After a second or two where he's frozen in place with shock, he goes to rush forward, calling your name, his voice hoarse with fear, as Palkia starts launching powerful attacks at you, only to be stopped by Irida grabbing his wrist and Kamado stepping across in front of him,
"No, Adaman! It's too dangerous," Irida pleas, while Kamado nods in agreement,
"We have to trust Y/N to be able to do this - she's the best chance we've got," he insists, only for all three to flinch as powerful meteors land on the battlefield not too far from them. Adaman is completely torn; he knows he has to trust you, and he's seen you battle nobles before, but he can barely stand to see you battling something so dangerous. You look so tiny and vulnerable before the enormous Pokémon, and its relentless attacks are making him feel sick to the stomach - relief floods through him every time he sees you safely dodge one only to be immediately replaced by fear again as yet another is launched at you. Over your time in Hisui, since you fell out of the space-time rift, he's really grown to care about you. He was pleasantly surprised to find out that you're in your early 20s, around the same age as him, and from the moment he met you he knew he could trust you, despite everyone else's doubts. He's had your back through your entire journey of quelling the frenzied nobles, and he even accompanied you to the three lakes during your exile from Jubilife Village to seek Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf in order to build the red chain that was used to help you calm and catch what turned out to be mighty Dialga, and its fragments subsequently used build the origin ball. He's always found you attractive, but his first inkling that his feelings for you ran deeper than that was seeing you fight lady Lilligant, when he found himself a nervous wreck as he worried for your safety, only to feel a deep warmth in his chest as you threw the last balm that calmed her frenzy, but he simply dismissed this as being invested in the wellbeing of the people of Hisui and of the revered noble Pokémon.
His next hint that something could be up was when he defended you against Melli, saying that you were amazing and battling you to prove it. He felt a rush of adrenaline like he'd never experienced when battling you, and was in complete awe of your skills when you defeated him so easily. Melli piped up with something about the look on his face around you on the way back to the Diamond Settlement, but Adaman had swiftly interrupted that with the earful that he'd promised his warden after he doubted and disrespected you. No doubt this only fueled Melli's teasing, but he'd simply ignored it and later at the Moonview Arena he'd made sure to focus on his task of helping you make the balms to calm Electrode. The night after that had been sleepless for him, as he couldn't get you out of his head, but again he tried to suppress this and dismiss it as simply being amazed at your skills with quelling the nobles and wielding Pokémon.
