When you woke up, it was 7am. Getting to Mondstadt took a few hours so you wanted to get there while the sun was still up. You were greeted by breakfast in bed by your maids. You ate quickly and got dressed. It was almost time to leave. When you exited the house, it felt like you were leaving forever. You were having some people transport you there so you were going to sit on the wagon. As you were climbing up you heard your younger brother's voice.
Xingqiu: Wait!
You turn to him, confused by his words. Suddenly, Xingqiu hugs you. It was very unexpected, and tight. You hugged him back tightly. This was the last time you were going to see him in a while. He looked sad, and it made you sad.
Xingqiu: Have fun Y/N.. Oh yeah. If your book is going to have illustrations, make sure to contact Mr. Kriedeprinz. Don't forget to bring me something!
Y/N: I won't. Goodbye, Xingqiu.
Xingqiu: Farewell, Y/N!
You teared up a little bit, as you climbed onto the wagon. You were leaving your little brother. Sadly, your older brother wasn't there to see you depart. You and Xingqiu kept waving until he was out of your sight. This was the start of your independence.
You fell asleep on the wagon. When you woke up, you were surrounded by tall trees. It looked so green, there were no trees containing yellow petals. You could see all the new plants around you. You have read about the different plants in Mondstadt and they all sounded magical. Now that you are face to face with them you could actually see how magical they are. Some of them glow, and some of them spin like wind wheels. It was fascinating, the breeze felt different here. It doesn't make sense but, you felt more free. More releasing. You looked around you, experiencing this unknown land. Since trees were all around you, no light was peeking through. Until a few minutes later, when you exited the forest. It was beautiful. You could spot Mondstadt from where you were. It looked so different from what you are used to. You never got to visit Mondstadt, you were always busy. But after your agreement with your brother, you are now able to be here! The town looked so lively, you could see some guards at the front gate. In about 30 minutes, this was going to be your temporary home. You pulled out a book from your bag and read it while waiting to get there. You were extremely excited. One of the main things you wanted to do was meet the Knights of Favonius, you've heard great things about Jean and the cavalry captain. You were thinking about all these things until you got to the entrance.
You decided to get off the wagon, you wonder how people are going to view you. You're a visitor from Liyue with a huge wagon filled with all your goods. Do people here recognize the Guhua Clan symbol? Probably not but it would be cool. You talked to the guards at the front gate and they allowed you to go through. Everyone was giving you confused looks but it was expected. You looked a little crazy, especially with the people who are helping you transport your items. You gave them all a polite look, scared of leaving a bad impression on them. You made your way over to the Goth Grand Hotel, you knew the owner and he was allowing you to stay for as long as you needed. You checked in and thanked the people who helped bring your stuff. You got some workers at the hotel to bring your things in. When you got to your room you settled in. You treated it like your new home. Since you brought so much with you, it took a while getting everything ready. By the time you were finished, it was night. Mondstadt was known for drinking, it was a part of their culture. You weren't into drinking, it wasn't your favorite. But you wanted to stop by a bar nearby. You heard about a tavern nearby, it was called Angel's Share. Apparently, it was extremely popular. So you decided to visit. Hopefully, people who had a little too much to drink weren't going to pester you. Maybe this was what you needed, a little inspiration for your book. You brought your supplies and headed to the tavern. When you opened the door, it was extremely loud and packed. People were singing songs, downing glasses and glasses of wine, and talking obnoxiously. Were you going to be able to focus with all this noise? Oh well, this was something you were going to have to get used to. You were looking around, taking everything in. Then, you spotted the guy behind the bar. You barely realized he was there, he made no noise. Just quietly making drinks. He had beautiful scarlet hair, almost longer than yours. His suit made him look like he worked for Fatui. He looked like he was around your age. He didn't seem like the type to work at loud taverns, so why did he? You walked towards the counter, wanting to ask a question,
Y/N: Hello!
He looked up from the drink in his hand.
???: Hello.
Y/N: Is there anywhere for me to sit?
Hopefully you didn't sound rude.
???: Yes. There's place to sit on the second floor.
Y/N: Alright, thank you.
???: Interested in a drink?
Y/N: No thank you, I'm not so fond of alcohol.
???: We offer non-alcoholic drinks.
He placed down a paper in front of you, listed with all the drinks available. You scanned the paper, and found the drink you wanted.
Y/N: I'll have some grape juice in that case, thank you.
???: Alright, you can go have a seat. I'll serve you the drink.
Aren't you supposed to get the drink right then and there? Oh well, it was nice having it brought to you. You left the counter and headed for the stairs. There were people knocked out on the tables, sort of unsettling but regular for taverns. The stairs were covered with people who looked like they were in a haze. When you tried to walk upstairs, you had a hard time avoiding their legs and arms. This was probably why the man at the counter was serving you the drink, you would've spilled it before you even sat down! Finally, you reach the top. There was a change in air, it was more relieving here. There were less people up here and most of them looked quiet and reserved, though there were still some who were intoxicated. You took a seat in a chair all the way in the corner, you had a view of the bar below you and all the people. You pulled out all of your supplies and got started. It was hard to focus, but you were developing the ability to block out the noise. You had a good start, but it was still difficult coming up with a good plot. The characters were the hardest part to figure out. Instead of the generic stereotypes, you wanted to come up with something new. Suddenly, the man at the counter brought over your drink. Stopping your train of thought. He looked at all of your equipment with confusion. But decided not to bother. It was a little embarrassing to you, but it's something you had to get used to.
Y/N: Thanks.
???: No problem.
Grape juice was truly the drink for you, it was splendid. Over the course of a few hours, the bar slowly died out. Making you one of the only people left. It was time to go back to the hotel. You packed up all your supplies and went downstairs. The red-haired man was cleaning cups. Out of curiosity, you headed over to the counter. Asking him questions, hopefully he wouldn't get mad but maybe it would help you write the book.
Y/N: I never managed to get your name.
Diluc: I'm Diluc.
Wait, he's Diluc? You've heard about him before! He's one of the wealthiest people in all of Teyvat! He owns Dawn Winery, the fuel to Mondstadt's drinks. He's also known for being one of the best looking men in Mondstadt. This is what he looked like? You could agree with others when they say he's good looking. You never got a good look at his face before but now you are.
Y/N: So your Diluc? Interesting, I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you.
Diluc: Likewise.
Y/N: Do you happen to know places in Mondstadt that grow Cecillias?
Diluc: Starsnatch Cliff.
Y/N: What about Valberries?
Diluc: Stormbearrer Point.
Y/N: You seem to know a lot.
Diluc: And you seem to chat a lot.
He then realized what he said and corrected himself.
Diluc: My apologies, I had no rude intent behind my words.
Y/N: It's alright!
You smiled at him, trying to make sure he knows that it didn't hurt you in any way. He had a slight smile on his face. He didn't seem like the type to smile, it shocked you a little.
Y/N: Anyways, I should get going. Have a good night.
Diluc: You too.
You walked out of there and headed back to the hotel. You had a good time at the tavern, it was not something you were used to. Everyone in Mondstadt looked friendly, you were excited to explore tomorrow. You took a shower and went to bed.
