"it's because of yangyang, isn't it?" is the first thing out of honghui's mouth, his voice a low, angry hiss. "the only reason why you're leaving me is because of your stupid roommate, kun. i know i'm right."
kun came to his now ex's place to break up with him and leave without another word. he would definitely rather be with yangyang right now, seeing his sweet smile and feeling his comforting hug. "don't be so sure of that," kun snaps.
any word out of honghui's mouth that criticises yangyang, puts him in a bad light, will just make kun admittedly more angry. honghui looks ready to fire back his next accusation. "so you are in love with him."
"why are you so intent on believing that?" kun hisses.
at the word 'love', kun thinks of yangyang's smile. the way his nose scrunches up. his laugh. when he was making breakfast, he was humming and dancing around happily. the comforting hugs he gives, his jokes that always manage to at least worm a smile out of kun. all those memories they made together.
"he's better than you, that's what," kun adds. honghui scowls.
"better than me how?" his ex-boyfriend growls. "a better kisser? the actual love of your life? just be honest with me, for once, kun."
"i am, i have been this entire time," kun shoots back at him. "yangyang's a wonderful person. i never, ever considered cheating on you with him because we're not that type of people. i can't just let you go around treating my own best friend like this and let you get away with it. we're done and over with. find someone else to annoy with your constant calls."
"you piece of shit," honghui snarls, his face redder than a tomato. "i hope you and yangyang are happy together."
"thank you," kun grins. a fake, sarcastic one. then, he makes sure to leave immediately after. he hopes he'll never see honghui again.

turns out, jian's parents wanted him to take jin, jia, and jie back to the beach again to let the triplets get rid of their energy before lunch. yangyang agreed to help him after thinking about it while mingli was quick to offer help. kun just said he had something to do.
last time it was fun and easy. though, jin kept getting on mingli's nerves since he kept asking about his piercings. he even said he wants three on both his ears, but jian told him straight up that mum would never allow it until he moves out of the house. jian doesn't have any himself.
well, in all fairness, he still lives with his family.
"gege!" jia's voice suddenly cries out as yangyang was helping jie build a sandcastle. it was failing, but jie wasn't giving up — he was rather optimistic.
