Romeo
I don't mind the seasons changing in Michigan. It gives you scenery of changing leaves on the trees. But is it necessary for old man winter to blast us with cold ass weather? Christ, it's freezing.
We went from hoodie weather to parkas. Eh, I'm still wearing my hoodie.
I ran to the house as the wind ripped through my coat and hurried inside to find Casper and Hayes lounging in the living room.
"Cold?" Casper asked me.
"F-freezing." I removed my coat and tossed it over a chair. "Where is everyone?"
"Well, everyone is crazy and left."
Hayes snickered.
"I'll be happy when spring gets here." I plopped down in a chair.
"Why? Do you miss the warm weather?" Hayes asked me.
"No, my birthday is in spring. I turn twenty-one," I said.
"Are you planning to get drunk like your brothers?" Casper asked me.
"No, because I'm avoiding your dad."
Casper laughed. "That was hilarious when your dad dragged them out of the bar."
"No, it wasn't. I had to help Val and Pat."
"How did you become your brothers' keeper?"
"My parents made me the middle child when they gave us Raphael and Martin."
Casper chuckled.
The door flew open as the bitter wind whipped at us, for crying out loud.
"Shut the door!" We yelled.
"Sorry." Sage shut the door, removed her coat, and settled into my lap.
I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her. "Hi."
"Hey, yourself." Sage giggled against my lips.
"Where did you run off to?"
"Reese had a crisis."
"Again?"
"I met her for the food and listened. I learned if I stuff my face, then I can't speak. It's quite effective."
I snickered.
The wind caught the door.
"Close the door!" We yelled.
"Sorry," Pat said.
"We need a spring back for the front door," Casper said.
Hayes threw a blanket over their laps.
"Have Val install one," I said.
Sage snuggled into me. I wrapped my arms around her.
"Where is Val?" Pat asked.
"Probably boning Leokadia," I said.
Casper and Hayes chuckled.
"You need to get laid and leave our sex lives alone." Pat took a seat next to Casper and grabbed some blankets from him.
"I'm taking my time. There's no rush."
"Speak for yourself," Sage said.
Pat, Casper, and Hayes laughed.
"Baby, we talked about taking our time," I told Sage.
"Yes, I'm aware. But it doesn't mean that we need to wait until we're ninety."
