I got an image in my head just the other day
Yesterday to be precise
For my final drawing project
That which concerns me the most
The image
From the way it manifested in my head
It appeared as
Hands reaching from the dark background
Many
Towards the viewers
And to a certain distance
They are lit by some light source
So they contrast sharply
Ans their will be more hands some
With their outlines barely visible
From the blurry background
Dark

Will their be some figures barely visible as well
Contorted best
Reminds me of the undulating and smooth and curling
Nature of a serpent

I went to the Menil collection today
The "small" collection of art works wasn't
So small after all
The majority of the art works there
Gave me sort of a difficult time
Many which I have no knowledge about
especially the vast array of 20th century artworks
I was only impressed by coming face to face
With The museums
Collection of paintings
Done by Magritte.
I found them the most intriguing
And I cant wait to research the Belgian artist.
Some works by Picasso were there as well, but I found them also difficult.
Some of the pre Columbian art was intriguing as well
Also some of the works of oceanic tribes

But of course the ancient Greek and Roman art most
Beloved to me, was indeed enjoyable
And not forgetting to mention some of the byzantine art and late gothic. It was an ok experience for my first time in the main building.
Next time i hope yo spend more time with each artwork and trying to understand it
