I Remember

I see myself, reading the news paper. The date says 1956. (A/N Sorry about the history change. Captain America's story takes place in only 1 year, but for my character's sake, history change. In this, Cap's "star spangled man with a plan" tour takes 13 years.)
"Happy birthday sweetheart!" My mother said to me as she opened the door to my room. It's my thirteenth birth day.
"Wow! Thanks mom!"

I see myself sneaking into my mom's car, as she goes back to the army. I want to see my dad and I knew he was going to be there.

I see myself getting captured by Red Skull. And the experiments he did on me. I see my self getting let out. They thought I was dying, but I tricked them. I spread the wings I had gotten from the experiments, and flew to where my dad was. I can only fly for a limited amount of time.

I see myself following my dad onto the plane thing and watching my dad beat Red Skull.

I see myself yelling at my dad trying to get him to hear me. Then we crash.

I see myself getting found in the ice.

I see myself getting thawed and them saying, "She's alive! Wait till Cap finds out!"

I wake up on Tony's couch. Furry and Tony are talking behind me. I sit up. I can't process what I just saw enough to cry. I'm Captain America's daughter. I'm not 13, I'm 60 something years old.

"She's awake," Furry says. He comes around and says, "Sophia, I'm so sorry, this must be a lot to take in and...." before he can continue, I interrupt.

"It's fine," I don't want his pity and he obviously has no idea what to say to me, "It... it actually explains a lot, I never understood modern technology...." Tony grins amused.

"Well how do you feel? Now that you know your 62 years old?" Tony said chuckling.

"Not as weird as I felt when I found this out," I mumble. I take my jacket off leaving my gray tank top on. I let out my red feathered wings and hover.

        "Holy shit!" Tony says.

"How did you get those...?" Furry asks curious.

"Red Skull," my voice cracks, "I was his guinea pig," I whisper. I land back down and my wings melt into my back again. I sit down and rest my head in my hands looking at the ground. A tear rolls down my cheek. 'No,' I think to myself, 'Not here, not now.'
"You never told my dad, did you?" I asked Furry looking up. He looks at me sadly.

"No, we thought it would be better to just show him then explain and make him wait till we found you. Come," Furry says pointing to Tony's giant balcony. Next to it, is a giant plane thing.... I don't know if you could call it a plane..... Ah! I give up! It's a plane thing! The plane thing hovered right next to the balcony. "Let's go." Furry walks out side and gets in. "You coming?" he yells back.

"You could ride in that thing," Tony says smirking at me, "or you could fly with me."

"What do you mean?" I ask suspicious. He grins even bigger and presses a button on his bracelet. Pieces of the iron man suit start flying toward him. The boots flew toward him first, he jumped, posing as the boots landed underneath him and the other pieces attached to the rest of his body.

"Well?" he asks bringing up the face mask. I gape at him. I want to, then I think of my fear of heights. I finally decide.

"What the heck lets do it!" I say

"That's the spirit!" he waves Furry on. Furry rolls his eyes and shakes his head, telling the pilot to go on ahead. Tony must have seen me go pale, cause he says, "You scared Birdie?" he says looking at me. He seems proud of his nickname for me. I glare at him, picking up my jacket. "Ready?" he says blasting a hole in his window. I look at him, he says, "What?" I roll my eyes and spread my wings. I run.

"Race ya!" I yell back at him.

"Hey! You got a head start!" he yells running after me. I jump out the hole and fly! It's the best feeling I've had in a long time!

"WOOHOOO!!" I yell at the top of my lungs. 'Don't look down, don't look down,' I tell myself in my head. Now is not the time to freeze up. Tony catches up to me laughing, flying on his back like he's laying on a couch.

"Having fun?" he asks me, I can almost hear him grin.

        "Yeah!"
