CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Andy knocked on Benji's door, the door opened as the colours of bright yellow and beachy blond assaulted her eyes, "Lex, hey. Is Benji here?"

"One second," he brushed his straight locks out of his face, the wooden door creaking as it was swung shut. "Quartz, can you tell Benji his girlfriend is here?"

Quartz squealed, "Benj has a girlfriend?!" When they ran off Lex opened the door and flashed the girl with glasses a smile.

"So..." Andy drawn out the 'o' not really knowing what to say to the twelve-year-old. "Benji!" She smiled, as she saw her friend, both grateful to be saved from the awkward silence and to see her best friend.

Quartz squealed once more as she saw Andy, Lex chuckled knowing that they won't leave Benji alone with this later. "Let's leave the lovebirds Quartz."

"Lovebirds?" Andy asked while Benji blushed a deep red, Quartz and Lex walked off to their shared room. "What was that about?"

"I- I don't know."

Two years ago Andy would have blushed at the idea of her and Benji dating, Andy had the biggest crush on Benji and everyone knew it, everyone other than Benji, "Alright," she walked into the house, her eyes once again catching a glimpse of his necklace. "Where is that from?"

He wrapped his hand around the golden necklace, "Andy there is something I need to tell you," Benji grabbed her hand as he led her out of the house and across the road to a quiet alleyway.

Andy looked around the alleyway suspiciously, "Benji please don't tell me you are about to murder me," she chuckled.

Benji shook his head, "There are too many people inside, Issie and Isaac were probably spying on us." He opened his left palm, the golden necklace still in his hand, in the past couple of days he had grown rather fond of Mullo but the kwami agreed with him that it was wrong to keep the miraculous, it isn't his, the guardian chose her. He took off the necklace, Andy watched as Benji's necklace turned from gold to white and pink, to a miraculous.

"Benji, what are you doing?" She took a step back, Andy felt a mixture of emotions betrayal, panic, fear, she felt every emotion other than the ones she should be, like pride or joy. She felt fear for Benji, not because she is going to hurt Benji but because she doesn't trust herself not to share her secret with him as he has done her.

"It's yours," he gave it to her, Andy felt the miraculous in her hand and for a second she thought her glasses stopped working as her vision blurred, a small whimper escaped her lips before she could stop herself. "Oh my god! Andrea! Are you okay? I am so sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry, here I'll take it back," he grabbed it out of her hands.

Andy covered her mouth as she tried to calm herself down but the overwhelming feeling of conflicting emotions made her feel worse. Guilt, that is the main emotion she is experiencing, guilt that she fought her best friend, guilt that she feels guilty, guilt for feeling like she betrayed her father by feeling this way. "What- w-what do you mean it's mine?"

"I found it in your bedroom."

"My bedroom? But why-" the lady. The french lady, Andy had helped that french lady and then later that night a miraculous shows up in her room, that can't be a coincidence.

What is was her name? Andy wracked her brain and she still couldn't remember the name of that french girl, marion? marienne? She can't remember. She calmed down, her sight cleared and her grip on the mouse miraculous losses, "I don't deserve to be a hero."

She looked at the miraculous, she is being put in an impossible situation, to make an impossible choice, her parents or her best friend. "You should keep it, you did good Souris."

"You don't deserve to be a hero? Andy are you kidding?! You are one of the kindest people I know, I can't think of anyone else who deserves to be a hero more than you!" Benji exclaimed, his words making Andy look away from her dark-haired friend.

"Benji, I can't- not right now..." The grieving card, she was about to be sick, the grieving card was something she never wanted to use, especially not with Benji.

He pushed her despite hand down and hugged her, "I understand," Benji grabbed the necklace as Mullo reappeared. "But remember this miraculous will always be yours."

Mullo hugged Andy's cheek, "It's an honour to meet you, Andrea!"

"It is also an honour to meet you," Andy replied awkwardly, as she patted the kwami hugging her cheek.

"She's a brave one, I like her," Mullo flew over to Benji and sat on his curly hair.

Andy gave the kwami an uncomfortable smile, knowing how the kwami would take back her words in a heartbeat if she knew that Andy was the one keeping her friend captive.

Benji smiled, "I like her too," he whispered, Andy heard which caused a light blush to appear on her cheeks.

She shook her head and started thinking about the endgame, she now has a hero on her team. "Tell me everything! Every single detail, so that I feel like I'm not missing anything!", especially things like the identities of your teammates.

Benji took her hands, "I'll tell you everything and more!"
