Sasuke was once again going through letters. None of them from the people but all of them from the Lords and Ladies who served under him.

His wife sat on his lap while Menma and Kenji were playing on the floor with some wood carved toys. Daiki, Boruto and Kawaki were going through some papers. Homework their tutors gave them after long days of study.

He had put emphasis on the fact that his son's would excel and exceed all expectations put before them all. The bare minimum was not accepted. His older boys were well versed in poetry, music, art, history, politics, battle and multiple languages. Young prodigies like their mother and father

Sasuke wouldn't let one of them out of his sight, not since that wench had been able to chase his son through the castle without being seen.

Kawaki, who was sixteen, knew this routine all too well. When his family was threatened Sasuke would keep them as close as possible to him and will only let them leave his sights when he feels it is safe to do so.

Kawaki has been through it many times.

He remembers one specific time when the Kingdom of Iwagakure dispatched assassin's to kill Naruto while he was pregnant with Boruto. They felt that the blonde was going to be popping out too many heirs and refused to have more Uchiha-Uzumaki hybrid children running around due to the fact that they alone could grow to become threats to the other nations they had no familial ties too.

Naruto wasn't harmed, thank Kami, but Sasuke went into a rage killed the assassin with his bare hands and kept them all cooped up in the castle for months.

They couldn't go anywhere or see anyone. Sasuke was paranoid when it came to the safety of his kids and most importantly his wife.

Luckily he snapped out of it when Naruto knocked him flat on his ass after just giving birth to Boruto. Sasuke had been so focused on safety that he almost agreed to naming his second born that-squishy-yellow-thing.

Kawaki looked at his mother. He was on his father's lap taking a much-needed nap. He looked so peaceful and unburdened.

He sighed inwardly as he remembered all the time his mother was there for him without any prompt. Protecting him, loving him, caring for him and believing in him. Most royal mothers just give birth and move on, leaving raising the children to Wet Nurses and nannies. His mother was one of the few who refused to do so.

Taking on motherhood in stride and shocking millions of onlookers as he became an icon in which mothers of new had decided to mold themselves to. Kind, caring, helping, loving and above all else, fiercely protective over his kids to the point he would kill for them.

Kawaki remembers the first time he was made to attend the King's Banquet.

It was held every year by a different King. All king's would stuff their faces full of food and drink to their hearts content because they didn't have their wives hanging over their shoulders and telling them they had, had enough for the night. It was a time to strengthen old teis and make new ally's.

He was nervous seeing as it was his first time going to one. He was afraid of screwing up and making his father dissapointed in him.

His mother pulled him to the side before it started and gave him a pep talk. He reminded him that he was smart and strong and that he would know what to do when he stepped in to the room. He also reminded him that his father would be proud of him no-matter what he did.

At this point Kawaki is pretty sure he could massacre an entire village in the most brutal way imaginable and his father would still be so proud of him he'd have a statue built to commemorate it.
