Duncan's Pov
Duncan was in his castle, working on a new machine he wanted to build, with Kim's help of course.
"Hey Kim, could you build me a couple.... of ....of....things please? " he asked, fumbling for the words
"Sure," Kim said sarcastically, "Let me just whip up a couple of things for you, no prob"
"I meant some fiberglass cables, please" said Duncan pleadingly
"Fine, whatever. Jease sometimes you have the worst time explaining things"
"I know, but I'm concentrating and-"
Just then a loud sound came from the front door.
"What was that?" asked Kim
"I don't know, let's check it out" said Duncan
They ran towards the front door when they seen Zoey hurrying along with Teep, who was holding an unconscious Rythian. Behind her, the front door was replaced by a blue box.
"Duncan, please, I need your help" Zoey said almost sobbing
"What's going on?" Asked Duncan wonderingly
"Please! Something has happened to Rythian! I...I don't think, I didn't know where else to go, he's....." stammered Zoey
"What's wrong with him?" He asked, looking towards Rythian and noting his pale color. He also thought he saw blood.
"I....he....come look, it's. ..it's really bad" Zoey said, leading Duncan over, with Kim following.
Looking down at Rythian in Teep's arms, he was horrified at what he saw.
A gaping wound in his chest, with one edge leading precisely over towards his heart. He was still bleeding profusely, and his was breathing was shallow.
"Kim, go get the lab ready. Get a table set up and sterilized, and bring your bone needles and thread, plus some knives." He said hurriedly. She rushed off, and he turned to the others.
"Bring him this way, and tell me what happened"
Zoey and Teep, with Rythian, followed him, and filled him on what they had seen
"So there was nothing around? Nothing at all?"
"No, nothing, not even any monsters or remains of one" Zoey said
"That explains some things" said Duncan, thinking.
They had arrived at his lab, where Kim had set everything up.
"I also brought some disinfectant" said Kim
"Good thinking" said Duncan "Quick, lay him on the table" he said turning tword Teep.
Teep came forward, and lay him on the table; backing away quickly.
"Will..will he be okay? " asked Zoey worridly
"I don't know, please wait outside, I need to concentrate" said Duncan distractedly as he started to remove Rythian's jacket.
"Oh...okay...please, please be okay. " she said as she left with Teep
"Okay, let's get started" said Duncan
