Zoey was frantic.
She was pacing in the main room of Duncan's lab, going out of her mind with worry.
Teep was standing uneasily, watching her as she went back and forth. He had tried to reassure her, but nothing would help.
She didn't know what to do! There had to be some way she could help, something that she could do. But she had been kicked out of the lab, and she didn't want to risk Duncan getting distracted.
How did this happen?
What, who, had done this to him?
And why?
*Duncan Pov*
"What the hell?!" exclaimed Kim, "Why is there an ender pearl inside him?!?"
Duncan remained silent, his mind whirring with possibilities.
"Duncan. Hey Duncan! Answer me" yelled Kim
"I don't know for sure Kim, but ...I think it's a part of him"
"What do you mean "a part of him"?" Asked Kim
" I mean, we all know that he has magic, right?"
"Yeah. ..what's your point?" Asked kim skeptically
"We all joke about it, and tease him with all the enderborn stuff, but..... what if it's true?" asked Duncan
"You mean..... he really is part enderman?"
"Yes." stated Duncan "but much, much more than we thought. Not only does he have the magic, we all know that. But the source of his magic, possibly even tied to his life force, all along it was and ender pearl, same as an enderman. "
"But he can't teleport or anything, as far as I know!" objected Kim
"That's because he's also human. He uses his ender pearl completely differently, thanks to his human side" explained Duncan
"This is insane! " stated Kim
"But now, things make a bit more sense"
"How?" wondered Kim, as she went back to sewing Rythian's wound closed
"Because, now we know why this was done to him" explained Duncan as he went back to repairing the damage around the heart.
"Well could you clue me in, because I'm still lost"
"Someone was looking for his ender pearl"
"What?!"
"I know, sounds crazy but it makes sense. The initial wounds are in a jagged fashion, like the person didn't care if he lived
But Rythian's ender pearl isn't in the same spot as an endermans, which is in the middle of the chest. That's why the wounds became more precise as they went towards the heart. They needed him alive when they took his pearl." explained Duncan
"Ah, it's makes sense now!" Exclaimed Kim
"But ....what should we tell Zoey? Asked Kim
"The truth. I can't imagine Rythian objecting, and she deserves to know why someone wanted to kill him. Imagine how horrible it must have been to find him." said Duncan
"True, I guess you're right" conceded Kim
They finished work on Rythian, finally bandageing the last of the wound.
"Looks like he'll make it, thank God" stated Duncan "Let's bring him to one of the spare rooms, then we can tell Zoey"
"Alright." said Kim as she started wheeling Rythian away.
*Now we need to tell Zoey. I hope Rythian does make it, otherwise we'll never know just who was after him. Plus I don't think Zoey could take it* thought Duncan
