Dear to whom it may concern,
I would be perfect for this role in your short film because... because... UGHHHH

Well, It's been a week and I still haven't submitted this damn audition, all because I don't even know what to write for the cover letter. I don't exactly know what to say, how am I supposed to convince myself to the casting team that I'M perfect for the role, when I haven't even had any experience or training of some sort... unless you count that one Production of "Annie the musical" I did in the 7th grade, and those few acting classes I did but couldn't continue because I didn't have a job and ran out of money. Honestly, 7th grade was quite a blur because I only had the role of one of the orphans, although it was a small role, I did enjoy singing 'It's the hard knock life' in such an angry way.

See here's the thing. I don't have any experience but I decided to move to LA to "pursue" my acting dream. Probably not the best idea but I was running out of good ideas. See I was not going to go to college or community college and study something I didn't want to study. I solely had to prove to my mom that I could make the acting career a good career, she didn't really believe in me at the beginning of all this mess. Does she still believe in me? I have no clue but I have to make her believe in me now because there's no turning back. I just turned 19 last month and that means that I should probably start being an independent individual and not living at home. DO I miss home though? OF COURSE I DO! It's better than living out here in Southern California. I rent an apartment with my friend Lexi. She is the reason I even have a place to stay at. See, we've known each other since practically 2nd grade, of course we had our ups and down through the years but it works in our friendship because high school we got closer and I wouldn't love it any other way. Anyways, she got a full-ride scholarship from some sort of scholarship rep which she put to perfect use at the University of Southern California aka (USC).

For Lexi's sophomore year at USC, she decided to get her residency for California and coincidentally I was heading towards California at the time and she got a place near the university, so she offered me the second bedroom, we became good roommates. Lexi is very beautiful, she's way shorter than me though, I'm pretty sure she's like 4'10. Lexi has nice dark brown eyes, beautiful medium colored skin. Does she watch anime all the time? Yes, yes she does. And Do I rewatch the same shows and romcoms 24/7? Yes, yes I do. But there's nothing wrong with it because I like to examine the acting methods that actors use while acting on a film, its me studying how to be a better actor, since I can't afford acting classes at the moment. Lexie told me that she would help me land roles that USC was producing since she goes there, I'm so grateful for everything she's done for me so I told her I'd pay for the Netflix subscription and the Hulu subscription as well.

My first week here I ended up getting the job at our local coffee shop and not going to lie, I actually like it there. The place has a nice aesthetic to it it which makes it a relaxing place to work at, also I get no Karen's because Karens ain't hipster and into the last est trends, the Karen's probably only go to Starbucks and I ain't complaining. I'm really earning as much money as I can so that I can afford some sort of acting classes so I can finally book short films, and finally make a demo reel so I can audition for the good stuff.

Anyways, I hope that California won't be such a terrible experience all the time because so far it's been terrible... here's to making it to where I want to be so I can move back home where the snow and mountains are.
