Tanjiro Kamado is at his house. He is getting ready to make the daily delivery of coal to a ramen shop. 

Kie Kamado: Tanjiro, are you sure you can go to the city by yourself?

Tanjiro Kamado: Yes! You don't to worry about me, Oka-san(Mother), I have been through the route a hundered time already!

Kie Kamado: ...

Nezuko Kamado: How about me and Shigeru come with you Onii-chan( elder brother )?

Shigeru Kamado: *coos*

Tanjiro Kamado: *laughs* 

Nezuko Kamado: *smiles*

Tanjiro Kamado: Well, I'm off! Bye everyone! I'll be back before sunset!

Elsewhere...

Kanao Tsuyuri:*crying*

Kanao's Father: *beating up Kanao for no reason* YOU-WORTHLESS PIECE OF- TRASH

Kanao's Mother: WE SHOULD JUST SELL HER, SHE WOULD AT LEAST SELL FOR 700 YEN

Kanao Tsuyuri: I was hurt. I was hungry. I was sad. I felt hopeless. I was in agony. I was lonely. Such was my life.. but then one day I heard a snapping sound... and I never knew pain again. Living in poverty.. even having my parents sell me off, it didn't make me feel sad.

Kanao was being taken away after being sold by her family to a man.

(You can see where this is going)

Kanae Kocho: Ah Shinobu, look at that!

Shinobu Kocho: Look at what? Ugh, Nee-San, we don't have time for this!

Kanae Kocho: Ara-Ara~ don't be like that Shinobu. You know that I love that smile of yours!

Shinobu:*pfft* Alright!

Kanae Kocho: Hello there Mister, why have you tied this poor girl with a rope?

Man: Eh? Isn't it obvious? I don't want to get my hands dirty. Plus, what if she tries to run away?

Kanae: Konichiiwa, my name is Kanae Kocho!

Kanao Tsuyuri: ...

Man: Hey! If you want to talk to her, pay up!

Shinobu: Fine, I'll purchase her.

Meanwhile, Tanjiro is returning home.

Tanjiro: Hello everyone, I'm Ho- 

He sees his family. All of them are dead. All of them except Nezuko.

Tanjiro: *screams* 

Tanjiro: Ne-Nezuko?

Nezuko is breathing.

Tanjiro: Nezuko! Hold on! I'm going to get you-

Nezuko suddenly wakes up and dashes at Tanjiro.

Tanjiro: Nezu-

Nezuko bites Tanjiro's shoulder.

Tanjiro: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

Nezuko is about bite his head off when-

*SHWING* *THUD*

Tanjiro sees his sister's head fade away into nothingness. In terror, he realises the last of his family is dead. He slowly looks up to see a man wearing a half hexagonal and half maroon haori, with a katana in his hand.

Tanjiro: WHY DID YOU- I'L-I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU RIGHT NOW!

Tanjiro rushes at the man, his axe waving, while absolutely bawling his eyes out. He gets knocked in the head, and faints immediately. 

Giyuu Tomoika: Poor guy. He must be 9 or 10, this will without doubt be a traumatic experience for him. If only I had come a day earlier, this woudn't have happend.  Although I can't rewind time, I-

Giyuu sees an axe in the air, speeding towards his direction. He realises this was the boy's plan in the first place.

Giyuu Tomoika: ...

A few hours later...

Tanjiro wakes up to find himself in a rice field. He is completely lost.

Tanjiro: W-Where am I, I don't know this place!

Tanjiro realises what he has been through and starts getting traumatic flashbacks. He starts crying. He huddles into a ball and cries and cries.

While crying he notices something approaching him. It's something like flames, isn't it

Tanjiro: W-WOAHH!

Tanjiro sees a man with a radiant smile and a wearing a cape that resembled flames.

???: Young boy, why the long face?

Tanjiro: Huh? *remembers* My family got murdered. And this guy, he killed my sister, just because she was acting a bit rashly-

???: Your sister was a demon! You family got killed by demons! He was a Demon Slayer! It was his job to make sure to kill the demon and protect you and countless others! 

Tanjiro: S-so In the end, the demon tales mom told us were always true...I have lost the will to live. Please continue your journey sir, I-

???: SO YOU'LL LET THE DEMONS GET AWAY WITH THIS? YOU'LL LET THEM BE, WITHOUT GETTING YOUR REVENGE. LOOK INSIDE, BOY, FIND YOUR VENGEANCE!

Listening to this, Tanjiro felt his heart...burn. Through this sorrow, a sizzling hatred was forged anew, to find his vengeance.

Tanjiro: I WON'T!

???: YES! FANTASTIC!

Tanjiro saw the man's eyes gleam and his hair were waving like flames as he said these words with utmost passion: 

"NO MATTER WHAT, YOU MUST NOT LOOK BEHIND YOU! YOU MUST GRIT YOUR TEETH AND LOOK STRAIGHT AHEAD! YOU MUST SET YOUR HEART ABLAZE!"

Tanjiro: Sugoi...(awesome)

I WILL!

???: MY NAME IS KYOJURO RENGOKU! AND YOUR TRAINING STARTS NOW!
