(One last day continuation)

A week later, it was the day of Cassie's burial and Brit hadn't recovered. They had just gotten home and she couldn't stop crying. Faye hasn't left her side and was mostly there to keep an eye on the younger girl. The two were just talking when a knock interrupted them. Jason stood in the doorway and gestured for them to follow.

Cassie had tons of friends and a lot of them were there during the funeral, saying words about the life they had lost but none of them were there for the burial since Ivy and Jason wanted it to be just them and Brit's family. Hazel and Ivy were conversing on the couch while Peter was fixing the TV to show a video.

"What's going on?" Brit asked in between sobs. Faye led Brit to the couch and sat her between both moms while she and Jason stood by the side.

"Brit," Peter trod carefully. "Cassie made a video." He then pressed play.

"Hello?" Video Cassie called out. "Hi, is this working? I'm guessing it is."

All six of them smiled knowing that Cassie wasn't that great with her gadgets.

"If you're watching this then I'm gone, but hey don't worry I'm sure dad found me by now." Ivy and Jason smiled at that knowing that Cassie wasn't alone in the afterlife. "I just wanted to say a few words."

"To Uncle Peter and Aunt Hazel, I want to say thank you. You were like my second set of parents and you looked over Jase and me when Ma had to work and always treated us like we were your kids, for that I will always love you both." Peter hugged his wife, touched by the girl's words.

"To Faye, you were like the big sister I've always wanted. You made me feel like I could be anyone I wanted to be and that made me who I am and I have you to thank for that. I also want to thank you for making Jason happy and I trust you to be by his side even if you two don't end up together but seriously you two look like a good couple." Jason and Faye blushed deeply at the younger girl's words.

"To Jason, you are the best brother any kid could want or need. You were the right amount of annoying and protective but that's what I love about you. I'm sure you'll protect Ma, Brit, and Faye like you did me and that's the reason I had always looked up to you. Your older but I passed first, doesn't seem fair but I hope you live the life I never got to. I love you, big bro." Jason stumbled and Faye led him to the other couch before placing an arm over his shoulder, letting him lean on her.

"Ma, you are the greatest mother any child could ever have and I'm so happy that you were mine cause I wouldn't be me without you. When Dad died, you put Jason and me first but we knew you were hurting inside, and gratefully we got you out of your shell, I'm hoping you won't hide this time. I might've not gotten to live the life you wanted for me but I lived the life that I needed. I got to go to school, I met thousands of people, I got to help a lot of them. I learned the harsh reality but I had you and Jason to help me through it. Oh, and Ma, I fell in love."

There was a pause before the video continued.

"Sorry, Nurse Gab came in to get some blood. I wanted her to say hi but she didn't want to intrude Where was I?" Video Cassie looked to be thinking when suddenly she began to smile. "Ma, she's amazing. She's both brawny and brainy not to mention she's a beauty. Her name also happens to start with a B, just like Dad."

Brit couldn't help but blush at Cassie's words, even though Cassie hadn't said a name she knew like the girl was talking about her.

"She and I didn't start off on a good note when we met but she said that it was because she didn't know how to talk to me. Eventually, she did and we became best friends. We never became anything after that because she had a boyfriend back then and I didn't want to intrude. I loved her from afar but I was always by her side. Ma, do you remember, asking me why I always came home with an ice pack and supporting some bruise on my body? It was because of her."
