it's Patrick's birthday!!! he is 17 today. we're going to surprise him. "ok that's the plan, Ben and Charlie you're going to take Paddy out at 5:30 pm just keep him busy until 7 pm on the dot. in the meantime El and Ivy are going to decorate his room. when Paddy gets home you're going up with him to his room and that's where we will surprise him." Leah explained the plan at lunchtime. Patrick wasn't around, after everyone in the school heard that Ivy and him broke up all the girls in the school decided to take the chance and flirt with him 24/7. it's quite annoying but whatever. Ivy is very nice now she became nicer and she genuinely tries to get better. I forgive her, everyone deserves a second chance. Leah is so in love with her it's so funny to watch. Leah came out to me when she was 14 but she never really had the urge to tell her parents about it. she is scared they'll hate her for coming out but I think her parents already know about her sexuality. I don't know how they know but I'm sure they do. and her parents are so nice but I can't push her into telling them when she'll feel ready I will be there for her.
"Yo El what are you thinking about," Ben said pushing me away from my thoughts. "hm? oh nothing I'm just tired," I said smiling as I saw Patrick coming in our direction. "Hey, Leah hide the paper Patrick is coming," I told Leah and she hid the paper she wrote the plan on. they're getting used to me calling him Patrick. at first, they thought it was weird. but IDK it feels weird calling him "Paddy" even though we're closer now we're not close enough.
Paddy's POV:
some girl from my English class started talking with me and I didn't want to be rude so I stayed there and we talked although I wasn't listening to her. I was too busy looking at my friend's table. it's my birthday today but they haven't said anything all day. Did they forget my birthday??? "hey... paddy?? are you listening to me?" the girl asked "what? oh yeah sorry what did you say?" I said embarrassed. "oh, it's ok... I was asking if you want to hang out with me tonight?" she giggled nervously. "um... I'm sorry but I can't. my parents told me my grandparents are coming tonight for my birthday. I'm sorry" I lied. the truth was I had no plans for tonight. yet. "that's ok!! I didn't know it was your birthday!! happy birthday paddy." she said and walked away as I thanked her. she was the first person to wish me a happy birthday except for my family. I walked to where my friends were sitting and I saw them talking while El was just zoning out. again. she does that quite a lot. it is cute.
"YOOOO Padstar!! sup bro do you have any plans for tonight?? ben asked me and I sat down next to El. "no, actually I don't. why?" "because it's your birthday you dumbass we want to take you out!!" said charlie. "so you didn't forget my birthday?" "of course, we haven't paddy! but unfortunately, me, Ivy, and El have assignments to do so we can't join you guys" Leah said looking very flustered. I told her it was ok the boys kept talking with me about tonight and I felt El poking her finger on my shoulder I looked at her and smiled as she whispered "Happy birthday Patrick" and gave me a little box. I opened it and inside there was a silver bracelet. it was beautiful. I smiled and looked at her eyes. she was smiling when she saw my admiring face. "wow... thank you El" she just nodded at me and went back to her conversation with the girls. I decided to make a move and I put an "innocent" hand around her shoulder. and kept talking with Charlie and Ben. sometimes looking down at El who I noticed sometimes gazed at my hand placement and smiled. "OMG EL!!! YOU'RE 17 AS ASWELL IN 20 DAYS!!!" Ivy suddenly said. "oh... yeah but today it's paddy's day we should focus on that!!" she said quietly. I learned from Leah that El is not a fan of her birthday. I don't know why but I respect that. I nudged her arm and smiled at her. "I'm older than you in 20 days and you called me Paddy. PROGRESS!!!!!" I whispered. she just smiled and rolled her eyes. she's honestly adorable.

In the evening-( still Paddy's POV) "SURPRISE!!!" the girls shout "AHHHHHHH" I screamed that was fucking scary I wasn't ready for it. I entered my room and hugged the girls thanking them. when everyone got out of the room and head to the living room El noticed the bracelet on my wrist and caught me by it. I just laughed and she was admiring the silver bracelet on my wrist. she is very pretty. she let go of my wrist to my disappointment and went to hug Zendaya who entered the room with Tom who gave me a knowing look. Tom is my big brother and I talk to him about everything so he knows about my feelings for El. the best thing about it. he gives me pieces of advice. I feel like El is getting less shy. she called me PADDY today. what freaking progress. the rest of the night went by fast. dancing, singing, eating, laughing, and a lot of flirting with El.
