The two of them sat there on the bench in silence for what seemed like hours, but was only ten minutes, neither of them knowing what to say. Sakusa because he didn't know why the girls was not talking to him and Akemi because she was still clogged with embarrassment from the night before.

The people that walked by them could feel the tension between the two and made sure to steer clear of their vicinity.  Even Komori was not willing to go near the two of them. Eventually Akemi bucked up her ideas and turned round to Sakusa.

"Why did you do that last night, the head pat thing I mean" she mumbled out, gaining his attention.

"I just wanted to. Don't worry my hands were clean before I did it." Sakusa said, acting as if it was no big deal when in fact his heart was beating out of his chest.

Akemi was stunned into silence. She didn't know whether or not it was because he said he just did it because he wanted to or for the fact that he thought she cared about how clean his hands were. But that silence soon turned into a fit of laughter as his words truly hit her, earning a worried glance from Sakusa.

It took her a while to calm down from that surprise laugh attack. Taking deep breaths she wiped the tears in her eyes and looked at Sakusa. There was nothing but confusion written on his face as he asked if she was okay.

Words weren't able to come out of her mouth so she just gave him a thumbs up while catching her breath. Deciding it was better to put that behind them the two of them sat in a short silence.

"Oh yeah, Sakusa, nationals are starting soon and practice is going to longer than usual and free periods are to be spent practicing" she informed him, handing him a sheet with his new schedule on it. He just nodded, already knowing this was going to happen.

Akemi realised that she was rather thirsty and without telling Sakusa she just stood up and started heading towards the nearest vending machine. She kept walking towards it as footsteps caught up with her from behind, she knew it would be Sakusa as he wouldn't want to be left alone on the bench where someone he doesn't know may strike up a conversation with him and sit down without cleaning it. It was typical Sakusa if she was being honest.

He walked up right behind her, not giving her much personal space at all. Akemi put her money in and pressed the money for her drink before turning round to face him. There he had a wet wipe in his hand as if he was prepared to start cleaning the can for her. So she humored him and passed the can over for it to be cleaned.

As he was wiping down the can Akemi couldn't stop looking at his face. Admiring how he looked so effortlessly pretty, even with his mask covering half of his face. It truly did look like a masterpiece. Little did she know that Sakusa had caught her staring at him and was now string back at her with both confusion and an unknown emotion swirling in his eyes.

The two stood there for a while until Komori turned the corner and saw them. He would have cackled if he hadn't had quickly turned his head away. Everyone around them knew that they were undeniably attracted to each other. It was just those two that were oblivious to their feelings for each other.

He was meant to be telling them that the teacher wanted to talk to the volleyball club, but thinking otherwise he just turned round and left them to their own little world. Sakusa didn't realise he was staring until there was someone who bumped into Akemi. This caused a ripple effect and meant that she fell slightly into Sakusa. He quickly raised his arms to make sure she was stable. Then there was the awkward silence where the other student who knocked into her was just quietly looking at them while the two in the bubble just stood there lost in their heads.

The student quickly walked off after getting their beverage while the two were still stood in silence. Don't forget at this point Akemi is still in Sakusa's arms.

As soon as they realised they were in such close quarters they quickly pulled away from each other with burning cheeks. For a second the two were stood there in an uncomfortable silence. That was until Akemi turned to walk away form the embarrassing encounter, trying to pretend it never happened.

That would have worked for her if Sakusa wasn't sick of her walking away from him. He was starting to pick up on these habits and since she was someone who was a great friend of his he wasn't going to let her leave that easily. So as she turned around, cheeks still coated with pink, Sakusa tugged her forward and pulled her back into his arms. The atmosphere arguably became more awkward.

Akemi peered back up to him and titled her head like a puppy does. He couldn't help but put the can he was holding into his jacket's pocket before he raised both of his hands to her face. Her confusion continues but he slowly pulls her face closer to his own.
