Sakusa drew her face closer to his and without thinking clearly he let his face meet hers. The two of them stood there again after separating, not knowing how to process what has just happened. Akemi was sticking to what she usually did when she felt awkward and started to turn around and walk away.
That was before an arm came round her torso and pulled her back against his chest. He made sure that she wasn't going to run away from whatever he just initiated. They peered into each others eyes, not knowing what to say and who should say anything first. It always seemed that they were getting themselves into these situations.
Sakusa looked down at Akemi, their blushes still holding on their faces. That was until he brought her face forward again. The closeness making them blush but neither of them were pulling away, even though they now know where this is going to go.
It happened again, the two of them met in the middle. They became lost in their own world again. Everyone walking by them either gaped their mouths open in shock or quickly walked by, trying to get away from the very public display of PDA.
As the two of them separated Akemi dug her head into his chest in embarrassment. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders and allowed her to bury herself deeper into his chest. Their cute moment was ruined when the bell went for their classes. They quickly separated and took a small look at each other before Akemi started to run to the class, making Sakusa also run after her in order to keep up.
The two managed to get into the classroom before the teacher was able to. What they weren't able to do however is avoid Komori's teasing, making them know that he had seen them in the corridor.
Akemi couldn't help but burst into another blushing mess, quickly running to her seat to avoid his joyous eyes. Sakusa just stood there with his normal expressionless face on. Though he did walk over to his bag, got his mask out of it and put it on. He did this in order to hide the blush that was threatening to unleash itself onto his face.
The two of them sat in the class in silence until the rest of the day, until they had to go to practice. The three of them walked there and the silence was once again surrounding them.
"You guys sure do love your awkward silences don't you" Komori giggled. The two walking with him glared at him and so he just giggled again and skipped a bit ahead of the two before running into the gym. The three of them alerted everyone else practicing of their presence before going to the changing rooms to get into their gym kits.
The practice started to kick into gear as Akemi stood at the sidelines and took notes on where all of the players could improve on. Every time her eyes went to Sakusa a blush spread over her cheeks again and she had to quickly look away in order to not stare at him.
The notes were praised by the coach, as per usual, and she was quickly told to help start tidying up at the end of the practice session. She saw that there was a volleyball on the other side of the room which no one had seemed to notice. She headed over to it but as her hand went down to pick it up another hand was just after hers and also put their hand down on hers. She looked up and saw that it was Sakusa.
She peered up into his eyes and saw an underlying fondness swirling inside of them. It knocked most of the breathe out of her as the two of them stood up, the volleyball in their hands. Sakusa opened his mouth as if to speak however there was a loud yell from the door to the gym. There were the faces of the volleyball team grinning at them.
"We are going to the convenience store, you guys coming?" One of them yelled waving them over.
Sakusa looked over at her as if he was asking whether or not they should join them. Akemi just smiled in response before grabbing his hand and lightly jogging over to the others. The volleyball club all made their way down the street laughing and playing with each other but there were two people who were walking slightly behind the others, hand in hand.
They were Akemi and Sakusa, if you couldn't guess. The two of them seemed to have silently agreed that they were going to talk about whatever they were later, when they were alone. So they were just enjoying the walk together while listening to their friends chatter.
The scene was close to serene for them. The only way it could have gotten better was if they had the guts to actually have the conversation with each other to solidify their feelings about each other. But everyone knows that these two are never simple and always act now and think later, even their teammates know.
The two of them eventually split off from the rest of the volleyball team after leaving the convenience store. The two of them walked in silence to Akemi's house since she had told him earlier in the walk that her mother wasn't going to be home, meaning they can have their much needed conversation there.
