Chapter 6: Crashing Down

Quackity's POV

I only had seconds, no milliseconds to try to save everyone before we hit the ground floor. They were holding onto the railings of the elevator for dear life, "Listen to me, I'll tell you when to jump alright?" I yelled loud enough for them to hear. "Why the hell would we jump!?" Thomas yelled. "Trust me idiot!" I yelled back looking over at him. He shut his mouth and gave a slight nod, I wait two more seconds, "Now!" I yelled before we all jumped. In a split second I covered my vital organs in iron before we crashed.

It crashed down, I hit my head, I feel a liquid. I try to open my eyes but I can't see, I try to say something but I can't speak. "Everyone okay?" Jay asked. I can only hear his voice, I can't move. "Yeah I'm alright," Thomas said, "Oh my god! Alexis!" He yelled. I feel something moving off of me, god my wings hurt. I feel someone take my hand, it's getting harder to breathe. I let out a slight groan and a cough, I hear the elevator door open. Someone grabbed me and took me out, the air smells weird, it feels weird here.

It's quite humid in here, are we in the basement? "Do any of you guys have water?" I heard Carlos ask. I feel something wet over my eyes and a hand wash my face. I blink but everything is blurry, "Good he's responsive," Thomas said. I blink a few more times before I am able to see again. I see 3 heads hovering over me, Carlos, Thomas and Jay. "You alright? Gave us quite a scare," Jay said with a sigh and an akward smile. I only blinked, I couldn't respond. I look around, I saw a very dim orange light but a lot of darkness.

Yeah this place seems like a basement, I see boxes and tools almost every where. "I'll stay here with Alexis, look for a way out," Thomas said looking at the other two. They nodded their heads, got up and divided themselves. "Looks like you hit your head, I'm surprised your alive," Thomas said moving around a bit. In the last second, I turned into metal so my injuries wouldn't be so bad but metal can be destroyed at a certain force.

Thomas let out a hum, "You can't die now, you're our ticket out of here," Thomas said. He sounded like he was scolding me, here I am a 21 year old man getting scolded by a teenager. My head starts to ring, shit...

........, how many times do I have to tell you to stop doing dangerous things? You keep hurting yourself.

Who's memories are these? Clearly not mine... We stayed there for God knows how long until I heard footsteps. "Thomas! I found an exit!" Carlos yelled, trying to catch his breath. "Good, take me there," he replied picking me up bridal style. "Wow aren't you light," Thomas said getting a hold of me. My eyes narrow while I look at him, "Right, right, not the time," he said rolling his eyes. They quickly made it to the exit, we met Jay on the way and we all left. We ran all the way to the first floor, "Quickly we have to find that nurse lady," Carlos said.

"Split up and find her, I'll take him to the nurse's office," Thomas said. "Okay!" "Alright!" They both replied parting ways with each other. Thomas went upstairs to the nurse's office and rest me down on the bed. He fixed me to lay properly on the bed and grabbed a few things for my wounds. He cleaned the scrapes, cuts, shards of glass and even cleaned up my wings. Yeah it hurt like a bitch but it was worth it I guess. He bandaged me up and it almost feels like a professional did it.

He turned back and faced me, "I don't know what to do about your voice but the nurse lady will deal with that," he said. I heard the door burst open, I see the nurse from before and Techno with her as well. They both rush in the room, Techno kneels down beside me while the nurse lady examines my wounds. I can tell by Techno's face that he was upset, I knew the moment these two left I would get an ear full. "I see you bandaged him up quite well," she commented.

She then faced Thomas, "Are you a nurse?" She asked. He shook his head, "I'm a veterinarian. I work with hybrids and animals," he replied. That's how he was able to bandaged me up probably. Hybrids don't have normal human anatomy, for example I have extra bones in my body for my wings. She let out a hum, "I noticed that he hasn't talked at all, is something wrong with his voice?" She asked. "I think so, he's only been responsive by blinking," he replied.

She nodded and got up, she searched through many medicine cabinets until she found what she needed. "Here we go," she said walking over to me. She took out two pills from the container, she also grabbed a cup with water in it. "Can you sit him up please?" She asked. Techno nodded his head and gently lifted me up into a sitting position. I opened my mouth for the pills and she put them in, I also drank the water she gave me. "He should be alright in half an hour," she said checking her watch.

She then looked up, "I'll leave you to rest, let's go," she said looking at Thomas. He nodded his head and got up, I watched as both of them left. The door closed behind them leaving Techno and I alone. If only I could talk, I would try to ease the scolding that I'm going to get now. I look over at Techno, he was very upset, I can tell. He took a deep breathe in before letting out a heavy sigh.

His eyes narrowed as he looked at me, I can feel his eyes examining me. "How many times do I have to tell you to stop getting yourself hurt?" He asked, I can hear the traces of venom in his voice. "I'm glad you can't talk right now, so you can't sweeten anything. You need to be careful," he said with a growl. My eyes narrow, "Whatever dad," I thought to myself. He continued to scold for minutes without end and I had to sit there and take it.

If I fell asleep he would've scolded me when I woke up so it's better for me, if he gets it off his chest now so there won't be a later. After which felt like 2 hours but was truthfully only 10 minutes. The most painful 10 minutes of my life but it was 10 minutes. He finally stopped scolding me, he let out a sigh as he did. "You worried me, you know. When I heard you got injured... I thought you could've died and I would've never forgiven myself for letting that happen," he said. He sounded like he was fighting back tears, I can heard the cracks in his voice.

My eyes soften as my demeanor changed, "I would've blamed myself because the only thing I could've done to keep you alive was to not let go of you this morning..." He said looking down before looking back up at me, "Alexis where we are is dangerous, this is a place where one wrong move you and I could get killed. I don't want that for the both of us," he said with the most serious voice he could ever say. What he was saying was true, it's almost like we are in a mine field. One wrong step and we can be blown to bits.

I slightly nodded my head and gave him an apologetic look, I sit up and lean my head against his. "I'm sorry," I whispered with a horse throat, "I was wrong forgive me." I was in the wrong, I worried him, I should've been more careful. I was being inconsiderate, maybe I truly should've stayed in bed... "I forgive you, it's okay, don't beat yourself up for too long," Techno sighed.

He placed a kiss on my nose, knew he wasn't going to go anywhere for a long time so might as well enjoy his company. I close my eyes and slowly doze off, I was honestly very tired...
