"Jennie, Lisa is outside, hanging out around here frequently for the past few days. I think she wants to see you for sure." Chaeyoung teased, poking Jennie in the waist. As far as Jennie was concerned, she didn't tell her friend anything yet about the situation that had happened.

Jennie looked back at her friend in seriousness, "She's not here for me, Chaeyoung. She doesn't even remember me." Her face looked upset, but she tried to mask it with a smile.

"Why?" Her best friend looked conflicted.

Jennie sighed. "I don't want to talk about her anymore. In fact, I am trying...to move on." She didn't know whether she could do that or not.

It had been for a long time now since she tried. However, she needed that right now when the blonde turned dark-haired woman didn't even know who she was.

She was just no one in her eyes.

"Okay. I am sorry," Her friend finally understood, knowing that Jennie was serious.

"It's not your fault. Now, that I tell you, please don't talk to me about her anymore. I know it's not your intention to provoke me with her presence. You want me to be happy, and I always tell you about my long-time crush on Lisa. It's not fair to cut you off like this, but Chaeyoung, I really need to move on. I am fed up." Jennie stopped herself from crying by looking up at the ceiling.

Suddenly, somebody knocked on the door a few times. Whoever did that was impatient, given the fact that it was a few times in a row. "I'll take it." Chaeyoung walked to the door as Jennie wiped her tears that were about to fall on her cheeks.

"Jennie. Somebody really wants to meet you." Chaeyoung sounded unsure, but Jennie followed her afterward. As she was near, Chaeyoung signaled her with her eyes, trying to tell her something.

When Jennie looked at the person in front of her door, her breath halted. Chaeyoung was about to walk away, but Jennie insisted. "Don't. Stay here," Then, she stared at the woman standing at her door. "What do you need?"

She didn't know why, but seeing Lisa here was shocking. She didn't want Lisa to be here because after all, she was trying to move on.

"I am sorry. I know not remembering you hurts you because obviously, you do remember me. But, don't let a person like me upset you." Well, as far as Jennie was concerned, Lisa was not someone beating around the bush.

Jennie shook her head. "Don't worry. Right now, I am trying my best to forget you as fast as possible, so we are even. You don't hurt me anymore." If Jennie didn't know better, she would think that Lisa was upset too as the latter's eyes narrowed a bit.

The way she looked away told Jennie something she didn't understand. Jennie was not sure what she was thinking.

Lisa replied. "I am sorry. Okay, umm, hope you can get it over with soon."

"It will be over soon if I am not going to see you again." Jennie said without any emotion though inside all she wanted to do now was to cry in pain. She wanted Lisa to understand how she actually felt when she was not remembered by the person she had been in love with since forever.

The pain was unbearable because the fact that she was forgotten was hard to endure no matter how strong she seemed.

Lisa nodded in despair. Jennie believed it was in relief even though Lisa looked genuinely upset, but Jennie wouldn't do anything to risk allowing Lisa to hurt her anymore.

"Jennie, I am sorry." Lisa, this time, looked down, staring at Jennie's eyes.

Lisa was a confident freak. For the past few minutes, she didn't glance or looked nervous even a little despite her friend's presence. Chaeyoung seemed uncomfortable though.

Instead, Lisa continued to stare into Jennie's eyes. "I wouldn't want to do anything to hurt you intentionally. If I did, which I know I am, please don't let a person like me has the chance to steal your smile. It's just not worth it."

Then, just that, Lisa walked away from her...again.

Jennie gritted her teeth from running up to Lisa, calling her name before hugging her from behind tightly, telling her how much Jennie appreciated Lisa's help or just her presence when she was in college. Without Lisa, Jennie would not have survived with all the girls bullying her around since the first day of her college life.

But, Lisa was not the typical woman who would drop everything because she loved Jennie back. Lisa was cold and heartless, not in a negative way that she would beat everyone she met like last night. The point was she always defended the weak, finding justice for someone who couldn't do so for themselves.

Jennie had no choice but to walk back inside her apartment. Right then, the sobs echoed the place. Chaeyoung came running out of nowhere and hugged her best friend tightly. She didn't ask. She knew why Jennie cried.

The first time, she saw Lisa, Chaeyoung instantly doubted she was even capable of love. "She is not worth it, Jennie. Don't hurt yourself because of her. If she doesn't like you back, you don't deserve to treat yourself this way."

Jennie pulled back from her friend, wiping her tears away. God, she felt pathetic. Crying was not the point anymore when the person you loved just said the same thing your best friend said. "She told me the same thing."

When Chaeyoung looked confused, Jennie continued. "That she is not worth it. She told me to move on too. It is like she never thought of me even once. I was so stupid. What did I expect? She didn't even remember who I was back then."

"I am sorry, Jennie. You have to go through all of this stuff again. You know, I am always here for you, right?"

"Thank you. If it weren't for you, I would not know how to do anything anymore. Tell me, Chaeyoung, should I really move on from her?"

The look on her friend's face told it all. She was not stupid. Her friend would not want anyone to hurt Jennie, after all.

"Okay, I'll try."

"Jennie, you need to do it. Not just try."

Jennie sighed, "Okay."

Chaeyoung gave her a hug one last time before smiling. "Grab a coffee with me?"

"Okay." Jennie returned the smile.

In front of the door, after they had closed it a moment ago, unbeknown to them, Lisa was back, still standing behind the door, hand on the doorknob. She wanted to say sorry again. She needed to make it right for the both of them, but hearing Jennie cry hurt her a lot though she didn't know why.

Maybe, Lisa was just being Lisa, wanting something that was not hers. She shook her head and left.

Lisa didn't want to hurt or be hurt.
