I was just a normal girl in Guiyang, China. Me and my family were poor, desperate for money my dad went to Korea looking for a job. Meanwhile me and my mom got jobs in China, working nonstop from 7am to 9pm.
One morning we got awakened by a few bombs in the nearby neighborhoods. Me and my mom ran outside to see the commotion, all we could see was the fire rising with people running, screaming, and crying.
My mom and me grabbed our emergency bags, phone, money, shoes and ran out.
After running for about 5 miles we couldn't run anymore but we knew we had to keep going because the fire was rising higher and and was spreading fast.
Buildings were melting and falling apart as two more bombs fell 2 miles away from us. We were trapped and didn't know what to do, people were  panicking while pushing and shoving me and my mom causing us to drift apart from each other.
Coughing through the smoke I tried searching for her.

"MOM!" I cried.

But there was no answer. Soon I found myself falling into a ditch and fell unconscious.

When I woke up I was covered in dirt and ashes, while dusting it off I looked around and tried to re-collect my thoughts. Soon I looked up at how steep the ditch was and started to remember everything.
"No, I lost mom!" I said closing my eyes hoping that this was all a dream.
I threw my hair back and started to look for a way out. I thought about climbing up but the walls started to fall apart. In the hole there was a shovel , a few sticks, and her emergency bag.
"Oh, I forgot about my emergency bag, maybe there is something I can use."
"Hmm.... Extra clothes, food, razor, multi tool, flashlight, Oh my phone! It's kinda cracked but hopefully it still works." I turned on my phone to see 5:30 PM Wednesday, June 16. "WHAT! I've been out for two days!"I swiped up and decided to call 911.

📞"Hello, 911, What's your emergency?"
"Um Hi, I am stuck in a pretty deep ditch and I can't get out."
📞"OK, what's your name?"
"I am Ming Mei"
📞"OK Ming me, do you know where you are?"
"No, I pasted out two days ago during a bombing disaster."
📞 "Oh no, I'm afraid we can't go, you are in a pre-owned place, it will be really hard to get over there ourselves without getting hurt or even killed."
"Are you sure there is no other way?"

📞"If it was yesterday I would have told you to sneak through the smoke but now if you go now, you'll be clearly seen!"
I sigh in defeat as I started to remember my mom.
"What about my mom, have you heard from her? Her name is Zhou Li-Ming."
📞"We can look for her in our shelters and call you back if we find anything."
"Ok, That will be good."
📞 "Don't worry, Miss Ming Mei, well try to find a way to get you out of there safely."

The operator hung up and I started to eat something to regain my energy. After eating I tried to look for a way out but the place was so rocky and crumbly that any wrong moves would cause rocks to fall from the top so when I tried digging myself out because a little avalanche.
As I was digging myself out of the fallen rocks I heard a few voices from close by. They were yelling asking "Who was there?". I tried to hide my face until I heard a few footsteps and felt my arm being pulled.

"What are you doing here?" The man behind him said.
"Maybe she's a survivor, I didn't expect any survivors to be here."
"We'll have to take her to the Boss."

The second man took out some handcuffs, and though I struggled they still manage to handcuff me and then they threw me in a black van.

As they drove questions were running through my mind "Where are they taking me? What are they going to do with me? If I'm the only survivor does that mean Mom is gone? Does Dad know what's going on?"
