Day off

"KYAAAAAAAAA!"

Kiana shouted as she saw Nicol sleeping beside her bed and she was holding his arm. Nicol fluttered his eyes open and rubbed them as he saw that Kiana was awake. "Oh, good morning Kian-" Kiana cut him off by backing away a bit and saying, "WH-WHY ARE YOU IN MY ROOM? AND-AND-WEREN'T I IN THE LIBRARY LAST NIGHT?" Kiana said as Nicol sighed. "Don't worry, I saw you in the library asleep so I carried you to your room, Sophia let me in, and you were holding my arm, so I ended up falling asleep in your room. Sorry for intruding.." Nicol explained. "Oh" was all Kiana could reply.

"I'll let you get ready, good bye." Nicol said as he stood up and walked out of Kiana's room, leaving her flustered self alone. After a while of getting ready, she heard a knock on her door. "Come in!" Kiana said as Sophia walked in with a smile. "Soo what happened with you and my brother last night?" She said as she sat on the edge of Kiana's bed. Kiana had a tint of pink on her cheeks at the question but replied, "He fell asleep on a chair, next to my bed, since I was holding his arm...I DIDN'T MEAN TO OR ANYTHING! I WAS HALF ASLEEP!!" Kiana explained and heard a gasp from Sophia. "EEEK THAT IS SO ROMANTIC! He probably didn't wanted to wake you up, so he let you hold his hand and sleep on a chair!" 

Kiana turned red and started waving her hand around in embarrassment as Sophia hugged her while giggling. "I totally approve of you and my brother! Keep it up Kiana san! Oh by the way, do you want to join me, Mary, Catarina and Maria? We're going to meet up at a balcony to hang out!" Sophia said as she let go of Kiana. Kiana thought for a second, before agreeing to go. "Yay! Hanging out with all girls is much better than hanging out with boys." Sophia excitedly said while pulling Kiana out of her room to go to the other girls.

The two girls arrived at the balcony and sat down with the other girls. It was quiet and peaceful for a bit, before Catarina started speaking. "Hey Maria, is there anybody you like?" Maria replied with a 'huh' before saying "I..I adore you Catarina san!", followed by Mary and Sophia. "I mean I adore her too." Kiana said while chuckling. "T-thanks everyone!" Catarina replied. They found out that Maria brought sweets for them to enjoy, and immediately dug in. "Wahh these are so delicious~!" Kiana said while munching on one of them.

"I agree! It's very good." Mary replied, which made Maria smile happily. "I have an idea! Why don't we all go out somewhere together on our next day off?" Mary said, which Sophia agreed but Maria said she had to go back to her parent's house. "Then, let's make another plan when everyone's schedules allow it." Catarina said, while smiling. We all agreed. The next day, Keith and Catarina tried to invite Kiana to come with them to the country side, but she declined since she was planning to stay in her dorm all day and read books or do something else. 

Unfortunately, her plan failed. Sophia begged her to come with her and her brother into the town since she was planning to get a new novel and other stuff. Being the kind person Kiana is, she agreed. Now she was in the Ascart's carriage, beside Nicol, riding to the town. "I'm so happy you decided to join Kiana san! I hope my brother doesn't mind...do you, brother?" Sophia said, which Nicol replied by shaking his head. "I'm more than happy she could join us." He said while looking at Kiana, which made her blush a bit. "I-I'm happy to join you both too!" Kiana said with a nervous smile.

She looked out the window and saw that they arrived. Nicol opened the door and helped Sophia get down from the carriage. When Kiana were about to get off, Nicol placed his hands on her waist and also helped her down, before closing the carriage door and pretended like nothing happened. Meanwhile Kiana, she was blushing, of course. 'Why is my heart beating so fast..oh my god someone help..' She thought to herself as she followed Sophia and Nicol to a novel shop. Sophia turned to Nicol and Kiana when they arrived in front of the shop. "I'll be in this shop, why don't you guys go to other shops and get what you want?" Sophia said with a closed eye smile. 'SOPHIAAA I HATE YOU' Kiana thought as she looked at Nicol, for him to decline. But to her dismay, he agreed and pulled her to another shop nearby.

It turned out to be a jewelry shop as Kiana and Nicol looked around. Kiana's eyes suddenly spotted a simple butterfly necklace, hanging on display at the counter. Nicol noticed this and asked the seller. "We would like to see this one." The seller nodded and pulled the necklace out, before placing it on a small cushion. "It's a simple, yet elegant necklace made by one of the famous jewelry makers! It would be perfect for this lady, I must say." The seller said while smiling. Nicol turned to you and asked, "Do you like it?" Kiana nodded without thinking and Nicol turned back to the seller. "How much is it? We'll take it." 

Kiana's eyes widened at what Nicol said. "Nicol! You don't have to buy it for me! I'll be in your debt.." Kiana tried to stop Nicol but he shook his head. "Consider this as a present, Kiana san." He said while smiling a tiny bit. Kiana was silent, unsure of what to reply. "Are you two a couple? There's a matching butterfly bracelet that came with the necklace! Perhaps this gentleman can wear it while the lady wears the necklace?" The seller interrupted while taking out the bracelet. "Yes! yes we'll take it! I'll buy it, how much is it?" Kiana said before Nicol could decline. The seller told the price for the bracelet and Kiana paid the amount, taking the bracelet while grabbing Nicol's left hand. She then slipped it on his left hand, making Nicol blush at her actions. 

"It's the only thing I could do to return the favor, I hope you don't mind!" Kiana said, smiling. Nicol just nodded and paid for the necklace, before gently turning Kiana around. Kiana was confused, before feeling the cold metal around her neck and a 'click'. She looked at the mirror on the counter and smiled brightly. "Thank you for this, Nicol!" She said and unexpectedly hugged him, which he slowly hugged back. "Thank you too.." He replied. They walked out of the shop, but not before hearing the seller say, "What a lovely couple." which made both of them blush but pretended not to hear. 

They went back to the novel shop and saw Sophia coming outside of it. "Sophia!" Kiana said while running to her, Nicol following her but just walking. "Kiana san! Did you and brother buy anything?" Sophia asked. "Mhm! Nicol bought me this butterfly necklace, so I bought him a matching bracelet!" Kiana replied while showing her new necklace and Nicol showed Sophia the bracelet on his left hand. "Wahh I'm gonna cry, you two are so romantic and cute!" Sophia said, before hugging both Kiana and Nicol. "We should go back now, I have some homework to do!" Sophia said again and skipped towards the carriage. Kiana and Nicol looked at each other, before smiling a bit and following Sophia.
