Pico stumbles upon the gates of an unfamiliar village, suddenly halted by a pair of guards. " Halt, who goes there" exclaims one of the guards as their Pokémon Buizel glares at Pico. Gyarados roars as Pico attempts to explain his situation " Look I don't know how I got here or who you are just let me pass". The guards answer "Sorry, but we cannot risk the safety of Jubilife Village and it's people". Suddenly Professor Laventon rushes towards the gate with a trio of Pokémon consisting of Rowlett, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott trailing behind him, " Wait , maybe you can help me work on the Pokédex I am creating in exchange for shelter". Pico ponders on this before deciding to accept the agreement, the three smaller Pokémon appear restless. " Oh , maybe you should take one of these rascals along with you, I'm sure they would enjoy getting to explore alongside you", Laventon offers Pico the choice of taking either Rowlett, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott with him on his quest to discover how to return home. Pico takes Cyndaquil with him on the quest, the fire mouse Pokémon climbing onto his shoulder.

" Alright. I suppose we should make the trek to the north end of the village. If you will follow me" Laventon states as he proceeds to show Pico around Jublife Village leading towards an empty house. " These can be your quarters as part of the Survey Corps , of course if Cyllene allows you to join the ranks". Professor Laventon and Pico soon enter the headquarters of the Galaxy Team , Cyllene appears to be suspicious of the newcomer but after learning of his seeming ability to deal with Pokemon she welcomes Pico into the survey corps. Pico is then assigned to assist in the study of wild Pokémon inhabiting the Obsidian Fieldlands. As Pico returns to the Obsidian Fieldlands with Cyndaquil and quickly encounters wild Pokémon such as Bidoof and Starly to name a few. After encountering most of the species he hadn't seen before Laventon calls him into the lab for more study. Soon bringing up an important matter of the Diamond of Pearl Clans." Alright Cyllene. We need to figure out why the Noble Pokémon have started to frenzy ever since the rift opened, Kleavor is currently rampaging in The Heartwood". Pico decides to speak up " Alright , I can go deal with your Noble Pokemon issue". Pico moves futher across the Fieldlands and encounters more Pokémon, catching a few as he is soon led to the Heartwood and encounters the Warden of Kleavor, Liam. Liam challenges Pico to a battle to test him, using Goomy to battle Pico's Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil uses Quick Attack Goomy but Liam uses this to his advantage and uses an Agile Style Acid Spray to land several attacks on Cyndaquil. After fighting hard, Cyndaquil manages to strike a critical Rollout, defeating Goomy. Liam tell Pico that ever since an odd surge of lightning crashed down onto Kleavor it had entered a frenzy and could not be calmed down, Laventon comes up with the idea to use Balms made of Kleavor's favorite food to calm the Noble Pokemon. Pico enters the Grantree Arena as Kleavor swoops down from the tree line, it's stone axes slicing through several trees as it stands to face its opponent. Pico finds himself having to dodge the frenzied swings of Kleavor, tossing balms at the Noble Pokémon whenever there is an opening. Kleavor is then tricked into running headfirst into the dirt walls surrounding the arena, leaving a chance for Pico to use one of his Pokémon to help weaken it. Out of the three he didn't leave at the Pastures, Gyarados, Luxray, and Cyndaquil, Pico chooses to send in Luxray to finish off Kleavor. " Good shot Luxray, Wild Charge is the only thing that will stop this beast". As soon as Luxray jumps on Kleavor, Luxray cloaks itself in electricity and charges at the Noble Pokémon who then expels a burst of light, returning to its normal state. The Noble Pokémon gifts Pico the Insect Plate before rushing back into the tree line from which it came, " The plan worked perfectly! " exclaimed Laventon " I think we may have a chance at quelling the frenzy of the other noble Pokémon". Pico makes his way back to Jubilife Village to report the encounter to the leader of the Galaxy Team, Kamado. With this Pico is given the task by Kamado to seek out the other 4 noble Pokémon and quell their frenzy, hopefully closing the rift in the sky.
