Characters: Death, The Black Plague
Writers: Sakura, Queen, and Death
Rated All AgesDeath found themselves staring in the eyes of another. They haven't seen another being like this in a while. One
that they couldn't kill.... it stood like a statue frozen in place. It was wearing a thick black cloak with a plague doctor mask over its face. It was the embodiment of plague itself. Death opened their mouth with nothing
coming out, still a bit in shock. Without thinking they quickly grabbed their sycthe and tried to hastily bring it over to its neck. The plague creature grabbed the blade, cutting its hand in the process, but only black goop leaked out. The thick black sludge dripped down the
blade and onto the ground, pooling next to its feet. The creature didn't even seem to flinch or carr about what just happened. The black goop seemed to seep right back into the hand, letting it reform perfectly as if nothing had happened
after all."Who are you?" Death inquired, knowing full well who or what it was, but the fact that it appeared and just stood there in silence made them hope there was something more to this dreading silence.
The creature didn't talk for a few moments, then it started to move it's hands into signs and motions that
had Death's attention grasped.Sign language, they distantly thought.
"I am what they wish you to replace me with."
Death was aware of the growing plague that spread over the world, it had made their job busier and more difficult, with all the souls to reap and redirect.
"Why are you here?" They had removed their scythe from in front of the being, instead staring them down from under their hood.
The hooded creature pointing their index finger at themselves.
'I wanted to make a deal with you"
Death questioned what this deal may be. He only made a noise that would interrogated more out of the conversation.
The creature signed again. 'Perhaps I wasn't through. This deal would benefit us both. Our goals are the same Ending their sentence, their hand was in a 'y' shape swinging their fist back and forth between the two. Mutual benefit, a common ground would be needed. "What would that deal be?"
The signing continued. 'I know how tired you must be reaping all of these poor souls. I could end this for now, but that doesn't mean I won't ever return.' Death's exhaustion was humiliating. So many souls go lost along his way. He was a failure. He couldn't even think of a future, how many souls would he have to reap then? He had until the inevitable for that to happen. For he accepted the deal.
The hooded creature left, leaving a note.
"I'll appear again. hut in a mask of a different shape."
