It's the day of the ball and I have now put myself on a mission at 6am that will not be completed until we kill the people, we're after. But that mission only lasted 3 hours which is pretty average although sometimes they can be full days which was what was kind of hoping for but, oh well .And as for the 10 hours left of the day until the ball, I am planning on spending 2 of them inside the training arena and then I plan on finishing neon gods today because I want to start a book called a court of thorns and roses which is supposed to be really good so I want to start that. I also have a craving for sushi today so that's where I'm going now for an early but long lunch.

I walk down the steps of the house and towards the car lot on the side of the house and head straight towards my Lexus ic 500 and get in.

When I'm in the car I head down the spiralling driveway way until the gates where there are guards stationed.

'Hey, I'm leaving for a long lunch. Tell my father where I've gone and that I am armed and will be safe'

'Yes, ma'am just remember that you must be back for the ball. Your fathers' orders' he says

I don't bother responding just look straight ahead and wait for the gates to open. I know I must be there for the signing but for the rest of it I am not attending. I believe that it will probably happen when everyone has arrived and is busy talking to each other so I can predict it happening around maybe 10pm.

It takes around 15 minutes just to get onto the highway from the fact that we live partly in the middle of the forest although around the house it's all flat land except for my wing of the house which faces a forest near our house.

Once I get on the highway, I stay on there for another 15 minutes until I get into the city and head straight for my favourite restaurant of all time.

---------

As I enter the restaurant the bells rings above my head. As I look around, I see that there are no other customers here but I can here work in the back and so I go towards it.

'Lucy! Are you here?' I say loudly.

'Levina?' She asks before her head pops out from behind the door and then when it does a massive grin takes over her face.

'Levina! It's so good to see you it's been too long' she pouts at the end.

I laugh and say 'it's only been a week'

'I know but still it's too long to go without seeing my best friend' she says and then walks towards me and engulfs me in a hug that I gladly return.

'So, are you here for me or the food?' She asks.

'Obviously the food' I joke and then say 'of course it was you, the food was just a bonus' although right then my stomach growls uncovering the fact that I truly was mainly there for the food.

'Okay, okay. Let's get you some food while we talk' and then she runs off to tell Gabriel, the chef, my usual order.

When she gets back, she sits in the booth opposite me and stares at me.

'Where have you been?' She asks

'I was on a business trip' I say trying to keep my cover.

Lucy knows nothing about my real life because when I was younger, I once told someone who I thought was a friend but they told their parents and for some reason they actually went to the police cause they thought their daughter was in danger and our mafia was almost taken down because of it but my father managed to buy off the police and we're fine. After that experience I just didn't even want to really get to know anyone outside of the mafia because of how dangerous it could be, but when I met Lucy, I instantly knew we got on well and that we would be great friends.

Except for the fact that she knows nothing about me. To her I am a business major who already has a job that includes a lot of travelling which is fine because I told her I go to online college.

'Where did you go this time?' She asks with happy curiosity.

'Well, it really wasn't anywhere nice it was in the middle of Portugal which I thought would be cool but where I was staying was a dump. Like the bed was the sofa and it didn't have an oven only a microwave and there was mould in one corner and someone's old sock that was hard as rock, so it was clear what had happened there. Although the scenery outside was amazing.' I speak.

'Wow now I feel like I have such a boring life as a waitress here'.

'Never say that this place is my literal heaven I would love to work here'. if I had a normal life.

'That's nice of you to say Levina but I'm only here because it's a family business if it was possible, I would be anywhere but here, but I don't have that kind of money to do that' she says and looks away.

Whenever she brings up talk about money, I get so pissed with myself for not telling her about the fact that I could easily pay for whatever she wanted to do but I can't because I would be exposing myself and I don't know how she would react with the news.

'I'm so sorry I can't help' I say placing my hand over hers on the table and squeezing it.

'Please don't worry about me Levina you still need to pay for all your rent and stuff but I still fucking live with my parents and I'm 21 years old' she says.

'It can't be that bad to live with your parents, can it?' I ask her.

'To be honest no it's not that bad at all. I don't know why I always complain' she sighs.

We carry on talking about what has recently been happening in her life until my order is brought out and as I eat Lucy continues to talk about the book she is currently reading.

'It's called promises and pomegranates and it is amazing except for the fact that-'

'Wait don't tell me. I want to read it now please don't spoil' I say as I frantically cover my ears before she says more.

Lucy laughs at my outburst, and I smile too. 'Okay. Well, I need to be going but I will be back as soon as possible' I say to her as soon as I finish eating and walk out the door.

When I get back to the house it's around 3 and so I decide to finish reading neon gods.

After I finish reading the book, I get ready for another mission that I managed to get my dad to arrange last minute for the mission with the same khaki pants from two days ago as well as the boots but I go for a shirt that is one of my old ones that is black and already has one large slice down the side from a previous fight although the knife didn't cut deep enough for it to scar badly.

I put on my cap and pull my hair into it and then put on a jacket over my shirt but it's not my jacket it's just that if anyone saw the slice in the shirt, they would know it was me because it is my favourite shirt that I've had for 3 years and it's still so much larger on me which really is perfect because none can see how many weapons are around my torso.

Then I head towards the prepping room where the rest of the team should be for the mission.
