The thing is, she was pissed. Not only did she die like three times, but she had gone to hell. After trying to destroy the town with the bell she didn't want to die again. She was tired of dying, as a ghost, as a human and as a vampire.
When she woke up in her bed all comfortable as if nothing ever happened she had to take a deep breathe. This couldn't be real- could it?

"Vicki, get up Vicki. It's the first day of school." Matt shouts from outside her door.

Vicki blinks, once, twice, thrice and shakes her head.

"Matty?" She squeals out as she rushes off her bed and opens the door to see her little brother standing at the end of the hall looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

He lets out a resigned sigh and gives her a half hearted smile. "Are you using again Vick?"
She bites her lip and shakes her head. That got her into this shit to start with.

"No, no of, course not." She replies knowing that she is going to need to detox, assuming that everything is still in her body.

Detoxing won't be easy, it'll be difficult and it'll hurt. But if she wants to survive then she doesn't have much of a choice. She would rather not die this time. Hopefully this isn't something that Arcadius is doing to torture her.

"I think that I'm going to stay home tonight Matty." Vicki tells him as she looks at the floor ashamed. She had to make sure she graduates soon.

Matt watches her with a deep frown, unsure of if that's a good idea. "Do you want me to stay home with you?"

Shaking her head vigorously she answers "No, I'm just not feeling too well and I need to detox. I can't - I can't be like this anymore Matty." Vicki tells him as tears begin to fall down her face sadly.

He frowns sadly at his sister and nods as he wraps an arm over her shoulders to give her a hug. "You won't." He whispers. "You got this Vick, you've taken care of me - of our home. You can do this okay?"

Tears stream down her face quicker as she nods. "Thank you Matty, you have no idea how much I needed that."

At her words he hugs her tighter before letting out a small sigh and backing up. "I need to get going otherwise I'm going to be late."

"Don't be sad over the Gilbert, please." Vicki begs him quietly, her voice cracking from all the emotion that she's feeling as he finishes getting ready for school. "You deserve better then her."

He glances at his sister and smiles sadly at her and shrugs. "I'll try my best. What do you want me to tell Tyler?"

"He doesn't need to be told anything." She says sadly as she glances down. He didn't love her, or really even care for her - neither did Jeremy.

The only one whose ever really cared about her is her brother and she has to protect him the best that she can. Taking a deep breathe as he leaves she goes to the computer in the house and begins to dig for information. She has to do all of this right. Chances are, she will never get another shot at this.

Researching was never her strong suit, she preferred to just go through life and provide for her brother while her mother got rich boyfriends and drunk off her ass. Of course she abused drugs herself so she was no saint - god she has to do better this time around.

Biting her lips she begins to type things into the search engine. It took hours for her to research ways for them to protect themselves. One of the ways happened to be contact the 'devil' aka Arcadius to make a deal. Only problem is that she knows how bad that type of thing can go.

Another option is to invoke the spirits. That's what she's considering, of course she honestly doesn't feel comfortable going into woods. Then again she did get attacked by Damon, twice from doing so last time.

Carefully looking through what would be required to do so she lets out a sigh and runs her fingers through her hair. It'll take time for her to get any of it, then she will need to make sure to do the ritual by the witch house. Theoretically everything should arrive by the time her body is detoxed from all of the stuff she had been messing with. Lord, she hopes that she can manage this.

But she doesn't have much choice, she can't just let things happen the same way this time. She deserves better, her brother deserves better. But, perhaps getting in contact with Arcadius after the ritual wouldn't be such a bad idea. . She'll have to think about it.

When Matt had gotten home that day from school she could tell that he was a bit down. "Are you not going to the Grill tonight Matty? Or do you have school work?"

He glances up at me and shrugs, a deep frown on his face. "No, it's the first day- I just. I feel like I should be here. You're not working tonight are you? Jeremy and Tyler were looking for you at school.."

She shakes her head, the feeling of needing something - some drug was hard to fight off. But if she wants to survive this time she needs to- she has to do this. "Uh, no. Definitely not. I'm detoxing, I wouldn't be surprised if the boss try's to fire me for not coming in because I'm going to need this week off."

Matt just nods his head and sighs, tuning his fingers through his hair. "I suppose I should look for a job then too."

"I want you to be able to finish school and do the things that you want." She tells her brother gently as she looks down. "I have money saved up - I'll probably have to find another job after my detox is done though."

"Where?" He asks with a worried laugh as he shakes his head at his sister. "The Grill is-"

"I'll check out the shops, there are plenty of those and I could always work at a gas station or something."

Matt sighs and places his hands over his face before putting them down. "Okay. . Want some company? We could watch a show or something?"

"Do we have pizza in the house?" She asks him with a frown as she gets up to check, a smile blooms on her face as she sees a box of tombstone pizza. "Pizza night it is!"

Chuckling he shakes his head in slight amusement. He feels worry for his sister, she's - somehow she's different but yet also the same.

"Pizza night it is." He replies back in agreement. "What do you want to watch?"

Vicki hums and shrugs her shoulders.
"Friends? I feel like I haven't watched it in forever."

"You watched it last night." Matt replies with a smirk of slight amusement as he tries to fight back his worry.

His sister shrugs as she tells him. "It's a good show."
