Pipers POV
So, I just got kicked off the softball team, that's really fun. All because he though I didn't play in the all-starts game, Thats stupid. Now I am on a plane all the way back to Texas the train, train, and more training. All of the sudden my phone starts exploding out of nowhere, it's all my teammates and my coaches telling me that they need me and that it was a mistake.
I feel bad about leaving my friends in the dust to play without me, but really it coaches fault. He is the one that told me to leave, along some other words I don't dare to repeat. He took it on himself to take me away and that's what he did.
The plane lands and I'm back at home unpacking my stuff when someone knocks on the door, I go and open to see a man, not just any man, it's Don. I just kind of look at him and wait for him to say something to me, and he gets the point sooner or later.
"How would you like to play for team US softball against your old team?"
"What team?"
"Thunder cats"
"I am in"
And just like that I am back on a plain back all the way to LA so I can play for another team so I can go kick my other team out of the competition. We got off the plain and are now walking to the field where my new team is, and I guess we didn't play them because they needed another girl. I get to the field and Don is talking about how the game we are playing today is my old team and how they are already in the lead with one win. We get to the field and see 3 coaches' and about 7 girls.
I meet the team; they are really sweet and friendly, and I was welcomed with open arms. Don is talking to the coaches and showing them my tapes, so they know how I play. My and the girls are just talking when all three coaches come up to us.
"So, piper, we have a few questions for you, if that's okay?" He asked I say go for it, I get asked the basic questions, my age, height, weight, number for my uniform, when the big question came up into the conversation. "What position do you play?" He asked that's a problem because I play every position, except pitcher. So that's what I told him, it's not a lie it's just rare to see a kid that can and will play every position, but I have been playing for 11 years so I have had to practice and training with them all.
The coaches said I am going to practice at third base, And I most likely play catcher for games, and they said if it needed, they would move me around for position to position if needed. I'm okay with that, Apparently Don told them that I don't listen the base running coaches because I already know how to, and he stated, and I quote "If you tell her what to do on base, she will not do it. She will do what she has and needs to do. If she is on First base, just tell her to take it, or don't even say anything. She knows the game, the knows what the other team is thinking. If she is on Third and she takes her lead and won't move back to the base just watch her, the other team's catcher will most likely will fake throw it to try and get her back on base. She does not fall for it, she will stay there and watch the catcher, they will most likely throw it back to the pitcher, if they do throw it to third, she is going to take off and steal home."
