Max sat on the bed looking at the phone that isn't even on. He wonders whether if he made the right choice. At least his 'friends' are safe. He has been quiet, too quiet. If he were like this around his friend they would have noticed but he doesn't know if the Ninjas has recognized it.

Knock Knock Knock

"Come in." Max stood up as Jay entered. Max was making his way to his little table when Jay spoke. "How was lunch?"

"It was fine." Jay looked at him. Jay noticed that something went on in that conversation that is bothering him.

"Are you alright?"

"What do you mean?" Max made eye contact for a bit while setting up a machine.

"You're very quiet, you didn't say anything since you came back from downstairs."

"It's called thinking Jay. You should try sometimes." Max tried to walk away when Jay stopped him.

"I mean seriously, what's wrong?" Jay looks at Max in the eye. Max shook his head and sat on the bed, pausing before speaking up.

"It was my friend, we had a bit of falling out. Surprised to see someone being able to see it through my actions." This was indeed the first time, every time he get upset he would normally try to shrug it off or even make jokes and move on.

"Look, I argue with Kai all the time. You should do what I do, just lie low and wait till he comes to his senses, It'll soon blow over." Jay paused for a moment, possibly going over what he said "Not like Kai will anyways. It's the advice Nya gave me." Jay sat on the bed beside him.

Max smiled for a while "Well I don't know about him, he seems stubborn." Jay noticed Max looking down. He gently punched him in the arm. "Oh, cheer up."

"How is that supposed to cheer me up?" Max forgot his playful nature, he was thinking about the call too much.

"Works with the ninjas." Jay looked away.

"Well they're thick aren't they?" Max asked saying the sentence with a strong accent which seemingly annoyed Jay a little bit.

Jay looks back at him "I'm a ninja."

"There you go then." Jay punched him again but this time a bit lighter. "Come on, what happened? Why won't her come to his senses."

"He's a very stubborn and arrogant person who got into trouble at school multiple times, plus he is the type that doesn't like the ninjas and the way they manage the situation. He believes Ninjas cause destruction and deaths." Max explained as he realizes what kind of person Jay was.

"Well, there's every opposite opinion to everything even the stupid ones, I get that some people think we cause destruction but that was the last resort in most cases." Max nodded in agreement, he wanted to respect Ben's opinion but the way he manages it was not the way. Max felt more comfortable around them.

"I didn't know you are so, I don't know, compassionate" Max spoke quietly. Jay was confused, was he not always compassionate?

"What do you mean?"

Max waited until responding, does he want to do this? Jay didn't trust him at first, why should he?

"I mean, from what I can see, I thought you were the dumb one or the one that makes jokes, unlike Cole. And ordering some... questionable stuffs." Jay looked suspiciously, the only one who ever told what he was ordering was his friend or his family.

"What?"

"I can hack you know." Max pointed at his phone. "Asides, you are better than I thought or imagined, I never thought how gave me so much care."

Jay was surprised at what he said, asides from the fact that he is the hacker, Max he knew talked to Jay over text and knew Jay was ordering some weird stuffs.

"You're Max aren't you? From the chat?" Jay broke the silence while laughing a bit.

"Now you're getting stupid." Max stood up, smiling in the process.

"Ok just because you revealed yourself does not mean you can just do that. Come one, let's head downstairs, Zane must be waiting for us." Jay stood up and left the room, Max followed suit shortly after.

Max was surprised how Jay just brushed off the fact that he was Max. Maybe they were too busy to care? Maybe he should not have responded to that, but only time will tell.
