Leo looked in horror at the beast that had him in its grasp. He quivered as he thought of what this monster would do to him. It was clenching his shoulders with a pair of razor sharp talons. Its legs were like black, scaly tree trunks. The great creatures long flexible neck swayed up and down, cutting through the air as it flew.
Leo looked in the direction it was taking him. 'Maybe he is bringing me to his cave,' Leo thought. He scanned the surrounding landscape, looking for anything of the sort.
Leo's stomach lurched as the dragon closed its wings bringing them to a dive. His eyes watered and its talons dug into his shoulders making him gasp in pain. The dragon strengthened its grip. Leo screamed and smashed at the dragons feet as his body burned. Eventually the dragon loosened, making him sigh in temporary relief. It leveled out, now much closer to the surface. It unclasped its talons and dropped him.
Leo fell through the air, the dragons figure shrinking in to the sky above. He spun around, looking to the ground that was quickly approaching. His eyes stung and his heart was threatening to beat out of his chest. He shrieked, sucking in the thin cold air. His hair flew behind him. The hard ground was only feet away, but he kept falling.
Leo was falling yet the earth seemed to follow, a bowl forming around him. He gazed around in wonderment. It was astonishing, not to mention impossible!
Leo flew past the trees, following the sinking earth. As he fell a roar came from the tree line. He twirled around and watched in awe as water flooded down into the crater that was forming. It gushed in at an amazing rate, quickly closing the gap between him and the ground. The rising water encompassed him. He instinctively closed his eyes.
Leo swam through the water towards the surface. He opened his eyes, taking in the blurry scene. He looked up. Rays of sunlight shimmered through the water. The surface was a hundred feet away but he wasn't worried, the water seemed inviting. He looked around as he swam up the smooth walls of the pond. He looked down to see light blue shimmers floating about him. The lights became more clear. They were glowing blue fish. His heart pounded. He gasped, his lungs filling with water.
Leo flailed about, struggling to reach the surface. his body burned and his heart beat quickened. The water became thick, like syrup. Swimming seemed impossible. His body grew tired. He looked up towards the surface. It was so close yet so far. There was no way he could make it in time. The light faded and he felt his body rush through the water.
Leo's eyes fluttered open. A dark figure hovered in front of him. He went rigid. Images of Camilla being consumed flashed through his mind. He crinkled his nose as a foul wind passed by his hair, pushing the water from his eyes. Holding him in its mouth stood the dark black dragon that had dropped him, a exasperated expression on the beasts face. "Put him down shard."
Shard opened his mouth, dropping Leo to the ground. He looked from where the voice had come. Standing only meters from him was the old man from the cave that went by Igneus. "Hello Leo, long time no see," he said as he walked towards him, a soft smile on his lips. Leo scuttled backwards away from him. His back slammed into a black tree trunk. He looked up to see the dragon looming over him. It snorted, covering him in soot. The ash on his face blinded him. He rubbed it off and sat in horror; Igneus was crouching directly in front of him.
"Get away from me!" Leo yelled as he brought his hand up towards Igneus. He swept his hand up and grabbed Leo's holding it firmly at the ground.
"Tsk tsk tsk," he said while shaking a finger. "Lets not go through that again," Igneus said with a smile. He let Leo's hand go. "Now lets go home." He glared at Igneus, skepticism written on his face.
"Will you really take me home?" Leo asked, eyeing him. Behind him Shard snarled. Leo snapped his head up at him. The black dragon was watching him, an uninterested expression in his eyes. Shard pulled his leg from behind Leo and turned to the pond. He walked a ways and dropped himself at the edge of the water. Leo watched as he swatted at the blue fish in the water. Occasionally he would manage to pluck on from the water throwing it into the air where he would stretch his long neck out and catch the fish in his mouth, swallowing it whole.
